Stree 2 and Animal have had very similar first week collections of 290 crore nett plus which for Stree 2 is eight days and also includes paid previews. Stree 2 has scored over Animal in East, West and Central while Animal was better in South.

In the North (Delhi / UP and East Punjab) the collections are similar but Animal is seven days so basically you have to say that is better. Stree 2 also got benefit of the huge Raksha Bandhan period in UP and that has propelled the collections in that area. It is because of this that the collections in Mumbai circuit do not look great as they are only 17-18% ahead of Delhi / UP when they should be more.

But in actual fact Mumbai circuit is outstanding for Stree 2. Animal scored better in South especially Nizam / Andhra which is 125% higher and that too with a Telugu version running riot but the Sandeep Reddy Vanga factor was in play in this circuit.

Its been around three years since cinema started again post pandemic and barring Punjab (political) its pretty much business as normal. Punjab (political) has issues and audiences are reluctant to watch Hindi films and its not just about the content. Animal did the numbers but that film is almost the perfect film for the state. There was even reluctance to watch Gadar 2 initially but eventually the public came.

The other fear within the industry is Gujarat but that seems a more of a content based issue as once a heartland mass film comes like Gadar 2 or Stree 2 the circuit does extremely well. Here also the original Stree was not huge or a Golmaal type brand in Gujarat but still Stree 2 is looking to notch up a 50 crore nett plus number in the state. KGF 2 and RRR were also outstanding in the state. The first week circuit figures of Animal and Stree 2 are as follows
