If Patriotism is an outdated concept, they're bull @#$& according to some, then what is religion?

I know the answer, Religions are too except for one

Years ago a NBA player pulled a kaepernick and refused to stand for National anthem, but he didn't cite oppression or racism as his reasons

He said his religion doesn't allow it... There was severe backlash

But now Kaepernick gets support, people kneel with him, he cannot find a job though

All religions are outdated concepts and the reason for most of the hatred in the world. 😆

I didn't follow the Kaepernick saga much but he has the freedom of speech and choice to do whatever he wants. If he didn't feel comfortable standing for the national anthem of a country that he feels is racist against black people, he has that right.

His stance brought more attention to police brutality so he accomplished what he intended even if it meant a personal backlash against him. Not many of us have the power and the will to stand up for our beliefs even if means personal harm.

👏 Somehow people defend religions when they are filled with wrong things.

What NBA player are you talking about?

Then he shouldn't play for it

He could've done it outside his job, not at the job that pays him millions and entertains millions from all walks of life

He can protest outside his workplace all he wants

Do people protest at their workplace against the country and society?

^He can protest wherever and whenever he wants. He wasn't stopping his work. He was bending his knee silently for 2 minutes while the others were standing. It didn't affect anything else and he continued to do the job he was paid for.

And yes, people do protest at the workplace. It's called civil disobedience and it brings results. In Iceland, women all walked out of work one day and brought the country to a standstill and it led to much better women's rights.

Well-behaved people rarely make history.

Those who hate India , please get out of the country.
Instead of constantly complaining, go do something first.

No media was full of news about police department's racism against blacks at that time

Actually for quite some time even before his kneeling

He brought a lot of attention to himself though, now playing victim that no one wants to hire him

It is entertainment nd people pay their money to be entertained and watch sports

Not to see kneeling on national anthem and see their anthem be disrespected

We can agree to disagree on this one

So? That's also his right. He can complain if he wants. He can play victim if he wants. He can refuse to stand for the anthem if he wants.

He isn't breaking any laws and he isn't hurting anyone and he is free to make full use of the rights given by the Constitution. Freedom of speech is for everyone even if it means people are saying things you dislike.

And how do you know what people watch sports for? Lots of people agreed with him so it wasn't an issue for them. We need to stop extrapolating our own opinions onto everyone.
