Nana Patekar doesnt think Rajinikanth is a superstar!

Rajinikanth's Kabali hit theatres on July 22nd worldwide and created a furore like never before. Show began as early as 4am on the first day and theatres, not surprisingly were packed and how! After all, Rajini fans were getting to see the superstar on the big screen after a while. The movie has received a phenomenal response right from day one, in terms of bookings. The scale at which the Kabali mania has been taking place talks volumes of the Superstar's aura and stardom. But not everyone is of the same opinion. When Nana Patekar was asked to comment on Rajinikanth who is hailed as the biggest superstar, he went to say " The film is a bigger star" According to him, if the story is good and the film is directed well, even if a newcomer were to act in it, it would do well.

As for the star, it would work solely because of the actor for 2-3 days but post that it's about whether the story would stand the test, the actor stated further. Well, it's true the content is the king but many have gone to contest whether that stands relevant when it c0mes to a star like Rajinikanth. Because if you are a Rajinikanth fan no matter what, you would catch the movie. Reviews wouldn't matter. At least that speaks true for a Rajinikanth fan. Moreover when it came to Kabali according to a renowned critic Bharadwaj Rangan, Rajini does more for the movie than the movie does for him. Several reviews have appreciated Rajinikanth's star presence more than the story. So, in this case, is the star saving the film?
