Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai: Abhira’s selfless sacrifice, risking her own life, gives Ruhi a fighting chance

In tonight's Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai episode, Abhira questions Ruhi's curiosity regarding the baby's gender. Meanwhile, Manisha confronts Vidya, asking why she didn't step in to stop Ruhi. Vidya explains that she merely mentioned how daughters eventually have to leave, whereas sons traditionally stay.

Abhira also confronts Rohit about not stopping Ruhi. Rohit says he tried, but Ruhi wouldn't listen. Armaan steps in, remarking that society's views on sons and daughters have influenced Ruhi, pushing her to consult a priest. Abhira and Armaan then have a discussion on equality, with Abhira urging Armaan to go find Ruhi.

Seeing Abhira's concern, Rohit feels relieved. Suddenly, Abhira starts to feel faint, prompting Kaveri and Vidya to call her doctor for assistance. A passerby notices Ruhi in her car, injured from an accident. Realising the door is locked, she quickly finds a scale to unlock it. Spotting Ruhi's pregnancy, she gently tries to wake her. Just as she attempts to help, Rohit and Armaan arrive, frantically searching for Ruhi. 

Rohit rushes to her side, urging her to open her eyes, while Armaan questions the passerby about what happened. After hearing her account, Rohit and Armaan hurriedly take Ruhi to the hospital for immediate care.

Abhira's sacrifice for Ruhi:

When the Poddar family learns about Ruhi's condition, Abhira immediately heads to the hospital. Upon arrival, Rohit and Armaan are informed that Ruhi's pregnancy has become complicated and she urgently requires a rare injection, which is currently unavailable. The doctor explains that these injections are reserved for high-risk pregnancies, a category Ruhi now falls into.

Armaan suggests they borrow the injection from one of the other patients who may have it, promising to help replace it for the original recipient. The doctor mentions that there is indeed one available—but it belongs to Abhira, leaving Armaan stunned. 

Meanwhile, Abhira requests the doctor to administer the injection to save Ruhi's life. Rohit, touched by Abhira’s selflessness, expresses his gratitude, to which Abhira replies that there's still time before her own delivery. However, just then, Abhira unexpectedly goes into labor, and the doctor informs them that she now faces the risk of a premature delivery them that Abhira herself is at risk of a premature delivery, shocking the poddars. 

As Abhira experiences labour pains, the Poddars grow increasingly anxious. The doctor requests that only Armaan and Rohit remain at the hospital, prompting Armaan to send the rest of the Poddars home.

Abhira asks Armaan to make a promise:

Armaan quickly escorts Abhira to the operating room. Before going inside the OT, Abhira asks Armaan to make a promise that if forced to choose, he should prioritise saving the baby. Armaan is taken aback by her request. 

Meanwhile, tensions rise as the Poddars and Goenkas argue over the situation. Madhav questions Vidya and Kaveri about the priest's predictions, and Vidya reveals that the priest warned her only one baby would survive.

Abhira and Ruhi's condition worsen:

Meanwhile, noticing Abhira’s intense pain and struggle, the doctor decides to proceed with the surgery and urges her to stay calm, assuring her that the surgery was anticipated and that’s why they had ordered the injection two months earlier. As the doctor instructs the nurse to bring the injection, Abhira informs them that she has already given it to Ruhi. The doctor informs Armaan that Abhira needs an injection urgently. Armaan finds another couple in the hospital and pleads with them to lend the injection. 

In the operating room, Ruhi's condition worsens, and Rohit learns that she is in a critical state. Abhira, determined to protect her child, urges the doctor to save her baby. The doctor decides to proceed with Abhira's surgery, though she requests them to wait for Armaan's return. With no injection available, the doctor warns that delaying further could endanger both her and the baby's lives.

Abhira, in desperation, insists that Armaan will likely arrive soon, begging them to save her child. As she loses consciousness, the doctor resolves to proceed, hoping at least one life can be saved. Just then, Armaan arrives with the injection, urgently asking if they can now save both Abhira and the baby. The doctor, however, remains silent, leaving Armaan devastated. Rohit steps in to console him during the tense moment.

Both Armaan and Rohit are devastated when the hospital staff informs them they may have to choose between saving the baby or their wives. Krish advises the Poddars to keep faith and pray for Abhira and Ruhi. Suddenly, Vidya and Kaveri are alarmed when the arti's thali falls, and Manish senses that Abhira may be in grave danger.
