Since five days, rumours of Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal getting married are doing the rounds. Her father veteran Bollywood star and politician Shatrughan Sinha had earlier said that he did not know about the news. He also said that children nowadays did not consult or ask parents before major life decisions. Even her brother Luv Sinha’s answer left people confused. Soon, gossip spread that perhaps her family was unhappy because it was an inter-religious marriage. Zaheer Iqbal is from the Shia Muslim community. The two have been together for seven years now. 

Now, in a statement to Bombay Times, Shatrughan Sinha said that he is neither confirming or denying the news. As per reports, the two will have a court marriage on June 23, 2024. It will be followed by a grand party at Bastian. Salman Khan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the Heeramandi cast is reportedly invited for the same. Shatrughan Sinha campaigned for the BJP from Asansol, West Bengal. 

Today, a digital invite has been leaked. It says, "To all our hip, tech-savvy, and jasoos (detective) friends and family who have managed to land on this page, hi!” Zaheer adds, “For the last seven years that we have been together, all the joy, love, laughter, and many, many adventures have led us this moment.”

Shatrughan Sinha said that he has only one daughter. He said she has full right to choose her own life partner, and has his blessings. It seems they were supposed to marry sooner but postponed it due to the Lok Sabha elections.

The two have been dating for seven years now. Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal met at a party held by Salman Khan. It seems they clicked instantly. Over the years, we have seen them wishing one another on special occasions. Last year, they made joint appearances at the Eid party of Arpita Khan and Aayush Sharma. They were also together at Sharmin Segal and Aman Mehta’s reception. Zaheer Iqbal’s father has business interests in jewelry, real estate and film equipment. His elder sister Sanam Ratansi is a famous Bollywood stylist. Zaheer Iqbal made his debut with the film Notebook.
