Shatrughan Sinha and his family has non-stop been in the news for Sonakshi Sinha’s marriage with Zaheer Iqbal. Reports had come on how Sinha senior was unhappy with the wedding as it is an inter-faith marriage, and as Zaheer Iqbal is not established as an actor. Moreover, the absence of Luv Sinha also raised many eyebrows. It also fueled gossip on displeasure over the wedding. In an interview to a channel, he said, “Bahaut bade bade crises dekhe hain humne. Aur yeh toh kuch bhi nahin (We have seen many big crises. This is nothing).” 

We didn’t ask for it. This is not the first time that such a marriage (interfaith) was happening. Our family was subjected to the most vicious smear campaign.

Shatrughan Sinha said there is no huge rift in the family as Sonakshi Sinha married outside her religion. He said it was just like any usual family with a marriage happening. Sinha said he does not understand this excessive media interest. The senior star blasted vicious smear campaign and said his daughter was not the first one to do an interfaith marriage. There are many Bollywood couples who did inter-faith marriage. 

Shatrughan Sinha further said, “Let me make this clear. I won’t tolerate my family being attacked. Family matters should stay within the family.” He said there is no family that does not have some discord or arguments. But he said this does not mean an end of ties or relationships. Sinha said they’re together as one unit. Some days back, a report hinted that Luv Sinha did not attend as he is not comfortable with some of the connections of Zaheer Iqbal’s father from the political fraternity. Luv Sinha had shared a news report on his Insta. When people assumed that he wished to disassociate with them, he said the write-up did not quote him, and was written by a reporter. Luv Sinha posted on X, “Why I chose not to attend. Running an online campaign against me on a false premise won’t change the fact that for me my family will always come first.”
