Bollywood actress Richa Chadha is set to be honored with the prestigious 'Chevalier dans l'ordre des Arts et des Lettres' award by the French government in recognition of her significant contributions to the field of arts. Jean-Marc Sere-Charlet, the Consul General of France in Mumbai, will present the award to Chadha during the Jio MAMI Mumbai International Film Festival, which commences on October 27.

Richa Chadha joins the esteemed company of Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who have previously received this honour from the French government. The award is a tribute to her remarkable career and the Indo-French collaboration in the world of cinema.

One of the pivotal moments in Chadha's career that contributed to this recognition was her critically acclaimed film "Masaan" in 2015. The movie, an Indo-French co-production, was screened at the Cannes Film Festival in the UN Certain Regard section and received two awards.

Richa shared in a statement, “To stand in the esteemed company of legends such as Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is a testament to the power of storytelling and the impact cinema can have on bridging cultures and societies." She added that her journey in the film industry has been nothing short of a "roller-coaster ride, filled with challenges, triumphs, and invaluable lessons."

The Fukrey 3 actress further stated, "Receiving this honour is not just a personal achievement; it is a recognition of the collective efforts of everyone who believed in my vision, from my family and friends to my mentors and collaborators."

She believes that this accolade reinforces the idea that storytelling has no boundaries, and as an artist, she has a responsibility to contribute significantly to the global dialogue.

On the work front, Richa Chadha was last seen in 'Fukrey 3,' which earned over Rs 100 crore globally, though it received mixed reviews. She is set to appear in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming Netflix original 'Heeramandi'. She has also wrapped up filming her international debut film, 'Aaina,' which is a collaborative Indo-British production.
