Vijay Deverakonda Defends Samantha Against Konda Surekha’s Allegations

The ongoing controversy involving Telangana Minister Konda Surekha’s comments about KT Rama Rao and Samantha Ruth Prabhu has shocked the entertainment industry. Konda Surekha claimed that KT Rama Rao demanded that Samantha be sent to him to prevent the demolition of Nagarjuna’s N Convention Center. She further alleged that Samantha’s refusal led to her divorce from Naga Chaitanya. This accusation has caused quite a stir, with many from the industry stepping up in support of Samantha.

Samantha herself has firmly denied these allegations, maintaining her dignity. She issued a strong statement, defending herself and her personal life. Meanwhile, her co-star from the movie Kushi, Vijay Deverakonda, has also come forward to back her up. Showing his support for Samantha, Vijay expressed his thoughts on the matter through a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Vijay’s tweet read, “Struggling to express in decent language my thoughts and feelings on what happened, today’s politics, politicians and their behaviour. Just want to remind many politicians out there that we vote for them to look after us, to talk about infrastructure and investment, bring in jobs and prosperity, talk about health and improve education and facilities, help us grow..We cannot allow or be ok with this as people. Politics cannot get any lower. Enough (sic).”

Earlier, Samantha took to Instagram and shared her feelings about the situation. In her post, she highlighted the challenges of being a woman in the film industry. “To be a woman, to come out and work, to survive in a glamorous industry where women are more often than not treated as props, to fall in love & to fall out of love, to still stand up and fight… It takes a lot of courage and strength,” she expressed.

Directly addressing Konda Surekha, Samantha added, “Konda Surekha Garu, I am proud of what this journey turned me into—please don’t trivialise it. I hope you realise that your words carry significant weight as a minister. I implore you to be responsible and respectful of individuals’ privacy.”
