Tinsel town celebrities are stars in the real sense; they tend to go missing temporarily only to come back and shine with a light that enchants and mesmerizes us. BollyCurry brings to you a list of the top five stars that have been missing from the screen for an extended amount of time due to various reasons. Some have chosen to take a hiatus voluntarily, to take care of their kids for example, while others have done so involuntarily due to a delayed film or no interesting projects. Keep scrolling below to find out which stars were missing in action this past year!
Starting
off our list is the former Ms. World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Bachchan
seemed to drop out of the spotlight in 2010, when she gave birth to her
daughter Aaradhya. Since then, we haven't seen her grace our screens as
she was busy taking care of her little princess. After five long years
and much deliberation, Bachchan gave a nod to Sanjay Gupta's Jazbaa, where she plays a lawyer. She also signed up for Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma. The film is scheduled for a summer release in 2016.
Bollywood's chocolate boy has been missing from the big screen for almost a year now. He was briefly spotted in Bhoothnath Returns (2014) and PK (2014) in guest appearances. Kapoor seems to have planned his moves carefully after his last outing Besharam (2013) bombed at the box office. He has four back to back releases this year. He starts off with Roy, a romantic thriller, then moves on to Bombay Velvet, a period drama. Towards the end of the year, we will see him romance his rumored lady love, Katrina Kaif, in Anurag Basu's Jagga Jasoos, and will sign off 2015 with Imtiaz Ali's Tamasha alongside ex-flame and Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani (2013) co-star Deepika Padukone. He will also be seen in Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil next year, alongside Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Last seen onscreen in Prakash Jha's political drama Satyagraha (2013),
Arjun Rampal has been lying low in the professional sphere. However, he
has been in the news for all the wrong reasons, be it for issuing a
statement of not working with Shah Rukh Khan again, or his alleged
involvement in Hrithik Roshan and Suzanne Khan's big break-up. But the Ra.One (2011)
star seems to be turning a deaf ear to the gossip that is being churned
out against him and seems focused on promoting his upcoming film Roy along with co-star Jacqueline Fernandes. Roy is a romantic thriller where Rampal plays a film director. The film hits theaters on February 13, 2015.
Asin had a dream debut in B'Town alongside Aamir Khan in Ghajini
(2008). Ever since, there has been no looking back for this pretty lass
as she starred in four major blockbusters co-starring bigwigs of
Bollywood like Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn and Abhishek
Bachchan. It came as a shock when all of a sudden you don't see her
anymore. After three long years, her new film All Is Well is
being readied for a summer release. It was pushed back numerous times
leading to this two year delay. The film is about a father and son going
on a road trip, and features Abhishek Bachchan and veteran actor Rishi
Kapoor in pivotal roles.
Making her debut back in 2009, Haasan has come a long way in Bollywood. However, she was last seen in 2013, featuring in D-Day and Ramaiya Vastavaiya. Her
performances in both cemented her place in the industry and even earned
her a nomination for the IIFA Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Shortly thereafter, Haasan decided to concentrate on her Southern
projects and in now returning to Bollywood with a jam-packed 2015 with
four consecutive films coming out. She has Rocky Handsome and Welcome Back alongside John Abraham, Main Gabbar with Khiladi Akshay Kumar and wraps up this power packed year with Yaara, an official remake of French film Les Lyonnias, opposite Vidyut Jamwal.
The
actors we've mentioned above are extremely talented artists in every
sense and we hope that they don't take any more extended breaks, as they
are not only leaving their fans hanging, but are also losing
opportunities to shine brighter than ever before! We wish them the best
of luck for their upcoming projects and hope that they manage to add
multiple feathers in their cap this year. What do you all think? Did we
miss anyone on our list? Let us know in the comments below.
