Throwback: When Ranbir hoped to be Deepika and Ranveer's baby's favourite actor on Koffee With Karan season 5

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh recently celebrated the arrival of their first child, a lovely baby girl. The joyous couple shared the news on social media, expressing their immense happiness and gratitude as they welcomed this new phase of their lives.

Years ago, Deepika’s former ex-partner, Ranbir Kapoor, expressed a unique hope regarding Deepika and Ranveer's future family. During his appearance on Season 5 of Koffee With Karan, Ranbir was joined by Ranveer Singh, Deepika’s current husband. Host Karan Johar couldn't resist addressing their shared history with Deepika. 

When asked if things ever became awkward due to their past connections with her, Ranbir dismissed such concerns. He remarked, “It’s been over a decade since we broke up, and there’s no reason to still worry. We’ve moved on, and it’s time Koffee With Karan does too. There’s no elephant; it has vanished, it’s invisible.”

Karan then turned to Ranveer Singh, questioning if Ranbir and Deepika’s past ever troubled him. Ranveer replied, “No. Why should it? Should it?” His response reflected his ease with the situation.

Ranbir went on to compliment the couple, saying, “Just the way they are with each other, they complement each other very well. They are perfect for each other’s energies. I’m really happy for them and hope they have some amazing babies. I also hope their babies like me as an actor and that I become their favorite actor.”

Ranveer's reaction was memorable when he humorously pointed out that Ranbir, who usually sticks to the script, had gone off-course that day. Fast forward to eight years since that memorable Koffee With Karan episode in 2016, and everyone has moved on to create their own happy families. Deepika and Ranveer married in 2018 after a six-year courtship, while Ranbir wed Alia Bhatt in 2022. Both couples are now proud parents to their little girls, and fans continue to shower them with love and admiration!
