Today, ALT Balaji released the trailer of Producer Vikas Gupta's much awaited high school drama Punchhbeat. The show which is slated to stream from 14 February, has been creating a buzz for quite sometime now. The upcoming series stars Priyank Sharma, Harshita Gaur, Siddharth Sharma and Khushi Joshi in lead roles.
Introduction:
Punchhbeat is an intense high school drama featuring the story of four students: Ranbir, Rahat, Divyanka and Padmini. The promo opens with the introduction of the prestigious school named Rosewood High where you can spot fashionista students on the prowl. With the right amount of glamour, the promo also showcases the hard life of a student (Priyank Sharma) who is considered a misfit for such a big institute, owing to his background and how he is trying to find himself. The series is all about punches, dance, drama, love and fights.
What we liked?
We are amazed with the ferocious performances. Even the newbies have made their presence felt. Also, the promo features some strong dialogues, delivered with such an intensity that made it bang on. The background music perfectly matched the pace and drama of the scenes.
What we didn't like?
To some extent, the promo gave us Karan Johar's Student Of The Year vibes, though the story is little different. While other characters had some intense dialogues, the makers could have given Harshita Gaur some good dialogues, just to make aware of her character more.
VERDICT:
Being loosely inspired from Student Of The Year, the series still looks promising as recently, we haven't seen any immersive High School drama on TV or web in the recent times. We loved the overall promo, it has the potential to bring the viewers to the edge of their seats.

I don't know why people think it's so cool to use cuss words. I can hear a lot of em in the trailer and that just puts me off. Not interested in this so called 'Youth drama' because seriously, today's youth isn't just about cussing and being physical. Aur kaunse school mein Aisa hota hai. Bewakoofi ki hadd hai!
