After a long time, a movie that’s purely a family entertainer and has all the elements to make you laugh, cry and dance all at the same time has been released.
A glimpse of the story:
The story revolves around two estranged brothers Arjun Kapoor (Sidharth Malhotra) and Rahul Kapoor (Fawad Khan) who are close to each other but are also holding the logs of their old fights. Following which they leave their childhood home and move their separate ways. But, they are forced to return home after their 90-year-old grandfather (Rishi Kapoor) gets a heart attack and expresses his desire to meet the boys. Staying under one roof many family secrets unfold and misunderstandings creep in.
Then there is the entry of a cute charming girl Tia Singh (Alia Bhatt) who tries to eliminate this sibling rivalry and in turn both the brothers fall for her. This creates more disturbances between the brothers and the cold war between these two forms the crux of the story.
About the characters:
Rishi Kapoor plays Dadu and has been a surprise package. Amongst all other characters, it is Rishi’s character that is the most entertaining of all. The veteran actor has yet again proved it that experience does matters when it comes to giving phenomenal performance. After Amitabh Bachchan it is Rishi Kapoor who will walk away with the trophy for Best Actor.
None can beat Fawad when it comes to versatility. Along with mesmerizing the audiences with his charming looks he also captivates their minds with his stellar performance.
Alia Bhatt has surely improved when it comes to acting. The actress has surely tried her best to amaze the viewers and has surprisingly achieved in it.
Sidharth Malhotra: Unlike his co-actors who have given commendable performances, Sid lacks a little back. Though he has managed to put up a cute chemistry with Alia but when it comes to portraying serious cinema the actor has failed to establish himself.
Rajat Kapoor and Ratna Pathak Shah play Sidharth and Fawad’s parents and like always have given stellar performance.
Over all:
The movie is a package full of entertainment, masti and dhamaal. There is laughter, there are tears and then there are smiling tears. At no point will you get bored because there is so much that the film has offer that it will keep you intrigued all throughout.
So quickly grab hold of your Mummy, Papa, Dada, Dadi, Chintu, Mintu, Kaka, Kaki and rush to you nearby cinemas to enjoy this funny yet heart touching movie.

A really fine film. Rishi Kapoor was the surprise package. Fawad Khan was mesmeric and effortlessly believable, and Rajat Kapoor and Ratna Pathak Shah play their roles so convincingly absolutely spot on characterization and deft storytelling with many twists in the tale. Sidharth and Alia are easy on the eye. Very Monsoon Wedding with a dark undertow. I plan to watch again.
