Divya Khossla Kumar Accuses Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt of Copying Savi Amid Jigra Controversy

Divya Khosla Kumar has publicly criticized Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt, accusing them of copying her film Savi and using inappropriate language against her. The dispute started after the release of Jigra, a film co-produced by Karan Johar and starring Alia Bhatt. According to Divya, the storyline of Jigra is strikingly similar to her own movie Savi, which was released earlier. She expressed her disappointment, claiming that her project was unfairly overshadowed by Jigra due to the star power of Alia and Karan Johar’s influence.

Divya shared her frustration over the similarities between the two films. “Both films share the same story, but my film went into production first,” she said, highlighting that Savi was co-produced by Mukesh Bhatt, Alia’s uncle, making the situation even more complicated.

Divya also posted on Instagram, sharing a picture of an empty theatre during a Jigra screening. She accused Karan Johar and his team of inflating the film's box office numbers despite low audience turnout. "I saw an empty theatre, yet Jigra’s opening figures were inflated. That needs serious correction," Divya commented.

Divya continued to criticize the larger issue of box office manipulation in Bollywood, arguing that such practices harm the industry’s integrity. “We are creative people, we are not in a share market,” she stated, stressing that films should be judged by their content and artistic value, not fake box office numbers. Divya strongly advocated for allowing the audience to decide a film’s success based on its merit, not through money or power.

Additionally, Divya claimed that Karan Johar used “derogatory language” to dismiss her concerns. She revealed that Karan had allegedly called her a “fool” for raising the issue. “Is it right to call a woman a fool for pointing out unethical practices?” Divya questioned, emphasizing the challenges faced by outsiders in the industry when they speak out.

Lastly, Divya criticized Alia Bhatt, saying that Alia didn’t need to resort to unethical practices given her success. She concluded by urging the industry to stand against wrongdoing and prioritize merit over manipulation.
