Kalki 2898 AD: Prabhas, Deepika Padukone film is a box office rage

The most talked about Indian film of 2024 is Kalki 2898 AD. Nag Ashwin has blended in the dystopian genre with ancient Indian mythology to deliver a visual feast that is a showcase of Indian filmmaking. Kalki 2898 AD has grossed Rs 963 crores so far worldwide, which is stupendous. The numbers from North America are one of the best for an Indian movie. Celebrities like Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Atlee have praised Kalki 2898 AD to the skies. They feel it has heralded a new start for Indian filmmakers in general. Mukesh Khanna who played Bhishma in the OG Mahabharat did a review of Kalki 2898 AD on his YouTube channel. 

He said he would give 100 points to the film for its scale and performances by the lead cast. Mukesh Khanna is heard saying in his video, “The level of intellect with which the film has been made is fine for Hollywood. People are more intelligent than us over there. Forgive me, but audiences in Odisha and Bihar are not going to understand this kind of filmmaking.” 

This comment from him has gone viral on Reddit and other social media platforms. A person commented, “As much as I liked and respected him for his work in Shaktimaan, we have to agree he says some shittiest things and has absolutely unacceptable opinions!,” while another one said, “Personally, one of the smartest people in my friend circle is a Bihari. These kind of stupid generalizations say more about the speaker than the communities in question. What a ridiculous take!” Prabhas who is hugely popular after the success of Baahubali has a huge fan base in both these states. Netizens said that it looks like Shaktimaan lost his Shakti to think. 

Kalki 2898 AD is being hailed for fab performances from the cast especially Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan. Big B is in stellar form as Ashwatthama. People are in love with his character. Kamal Haasan made Supreme Yaskin quite believable. Deepika Padukone was impactful as Sumathi. Kalki 2898 AD saw a huge surge on the weekends all over India. The film is set to cross the Rs 1,000 crore mark in three more days.
