Prabhas has proved himself to be leagues ahead of any other Indian superstar after Kalki 2898 AD. The film is shattering records set by many big Indian films in less than a week all over globe. Masses, critics and even celebs are hailing Kalki 2898 AD to be the film that will usher in the new wave in Indian cinema. The North America market is one of the biggest for desi films, with a large number of Telugu residents. Kalki 2898 AD has made USD 11 million dollars so far. It is unprecedented. In a day, it should cross Pathaan that made USD 11.8 million in its lifetime.

The other films on the list are Salaar and Animal. It should be noted that most of these films are by South Indian directors. The only exception was Pathaan that was the comeback of Shah Rukh Khan after five long years. Prathyangira Cinemas US did a fab promotion of Kalki 2898 AD. They had LED trucks going through the major cities. As per their handle on X, the total gross of Kalki 2898 AD in the US is USD 13 million dollars plus. 

Some Hollywood critics have even said that Indian makers seem to do the elevation scenes better than those in the West. Celebs like Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor have written long posts on social media praising the film. Nag Ashwin has proved that he is a filmmaker with an audacious vision. The inter-mingling of mythology with cutting-edge visuals has done the trick in North India. Cameos by Dulquer Salmaan as Parashuram and Vijay Deverakonda as Arjuna too helped the film.
