Hrithik Roshan applauds Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor's Stree 2, hopes for more joyful cinema

Stree 2 has become a huge hit since its release on Independence Day 2024. The film, featuring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, has received an enthusiastic response from audiences, achieving impressive box office numbers. In light of this success, Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan took to social media to commend the entire team for their hard work and dedication in creating a captivating cinematic experience.

On his X (formerly Twitter) account, Hrithik expressed his excitement: “It is such a happy time for our Cinema with Stree 2 setting new benchmarks for all of us to look up to. Stree part 1 was brilliant and the idea of taking that seed and building a universe and watching it all come together in Stree 2 is applause-worthy!” His praise underscores the filmmakers' accomplishment in broadening the original story into a larger cinematic universe.

Hrithik went on to acknowledge the efforts of key figures behind the film, including producer Dinesh Vijan, director Amar Kaushik, and writer Niren Bhatt. “Bravo to the teams that brought this to celluloid. You guys are true stars. Congratulations Dinesh Vijan, @MaddockFilms, @jiostudios, @amarkaushik, @nirenbhatt and the entire cast & crew!” He wrapped up his message with a heartfelt wish for future cinematic experiences, stating, “May we continue to have many more such happy times at the movies.”

Stree 2 is part of Maddock Films’ supernatural universe, which includes films like Bhediya and Munjya. Fans were thrilled by Varun Dhawan’s cameo, sparking debates about which sequel might come next—Stree 3 or Bhediya 2. Both films, directed by Amar Kaushik, have enjoyed box office success. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Rajkummar Rao hinted that Bhediya 2 could hit theaters before Stree 3, given its current production progress.

Rajkummar noted that while Bhediya 2 is still in the works, Stree 2 is currently screening, leading him to believe that audiences might see Varun Dhawan's horror-comedy sequel first. Meanwhile, Hrithik Roshan is reportedly being considered for the role of Kaleen Bhaiyya in a film adaptation of Mirzapur, a significant move for the character previously portrayed by Pankaj Tripathi, though nothing has been officially confirmed.

On the professional front, Hrithik was last seen in Fighter alongside Deepika Padukone. He is set to appear soon in War 2 with Jr. NTR and Kiara Advani.
