Actor Irrfan Khan, who has starred in various international productions in his over two decades in the entertainment industry, feels every language has its own "unique music and expression" and it is not good comparing them with one another.
Irrfan, best known for his roles in films like "Paan Singh Tomar", "Life in A Metro", "Slumdog Millionaire" and "Life of Pi", took to Twitter on Wednesday to share an English translation of late Urdu poet Faiz Ahmad Faiz.
Later, one of his fans tweeted to him the original words of Faiz's poetry.
In response, Irrfan wrote: "Every language has its own unique music and expression. No point in proving one superior over the other."
He said he shared the translated version of the poetry so that people who don't understand Urdu can get its meaning via English translation.
"Translated and posted Faiz's poetry so it could reach the one who will never get the taste of Faiz otherwise."
"Magic I believe is in one's heart from where it's generating and manifesting in the language one is close with," the "Piku" actor wrote.
On the film front, Irrfan has films like "Inferno" and "The Jungle Book" in his kitty.
