Amidst this emotional moment, Babil’s upcoming project, The Umesh Chronicles, has been making headlines. Produced by Shoojit Sircar, the film stars Babil Khan and features Amitabh Bachchan in a cameo. The movie was recently showcased at the International Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM). This film marks Shoojit Sircar’s fifth collaboration with Big B, following successful projects like Shoebite, Piku, Pink, and Gulabo Sitabo. Sircar describes The Umesh Chronicles as a nostalgic journey through the '70s, '80s, and '90s. 

He mentioned in an exclusive interview, “It’s a beautiful film we wanted to collaborate on with Jakob Ihre, who shot my first film, Yahaan. He has done the photography for world-class productions like Chernobyl and Spaceman. We were thrilled to work with him on this simple yet beautiful film.”

In the past, Babil had shared and later deleted a post expressing his struggles and longing to be with his late father. He wrote, “Sometimes I feel like giving up and going to Baba.” Following this, he posted cryptic lines about heartbreak, reflecting his ongoing emotional battle.
