Deepika Tried her Best to Convince Karan Johar But he Still put his Resignation

As per a report in Spotboye, filmmaker and Dharma Productions' owner Karan Johar has submitted his resignation to the MAMI Board. The reason behind KJo putting down his papers is speculated to be the recent nepotism debates on social media and the continuous merciless troll attacks on him.

Karan, who was extremely active on social media amid the whole lockdown has been maintaining a low profile since his last post which he made in the memory of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput and received severe backlash for it. Many of the late actor’s social media followers believe, he took the drastic step after being ‘wronged’ by the industry that perpetrates Nepotism.

After the tragic demise of SSR on June 14, 2020, Karan had shared a heartfelt post remembering the actor and had also blamed himself for not being in touch with him. His caption read:

I blame myself for not being in touch with you for the past year..... I have felt at times like you may have needed people to share your life with...but somehow I never followed up on that feeling...will never make that mistake again...we live in very energetic and noisy but still very isolated times ...some of us succumb to these silences and go within...we need to not just make relationships but also constantly nurture them....Sushants unfortunate demise has been a huge wake up call to me ...to my level of compassion and to my ability to foster and protect my equations.....I hope this resonates with all of you as well....will miss your infectious smile and your bear hug ....

And since then, Karan has been continuously trolled and attacked and following this he has been inactive on all his social media accounts. He even went ahead and un-followed almost everyone on his Twitter account and has even restricted the comments section of his Instagram account.

As per a report in Pinkvilla, Karan who has been a part of the prestigious annual film festival board has tendered his resignation and even sent it across to the to the director, Smriti Kiran.

The report further states that it’s likely, the filmmaker is upset with the social media bashing and lack of support from his friends from the fraternity.

As per the report, the MAMI chairperson, Deepika Padukone tried her best to convince Karan Johar to stay on in his position and not end his association with MAMI but the filmmaker made it known that his decision is final.
