On the auspicious occasion of his 56th birthday, Akshay Kumar embarked on a spiritual journey with his family to the revered Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. 

In a video that has since gone viral, Akshay Kumar can be seen adorned in a saffron dhoti and a matching shawl, folding his hands in reverence during the Aarti at Mahakaleshwar Temple. Seated behind him is his son, Aarav, sharing in this spiritual experience.

Adding to the significance of this visit was the presence of Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan. Dhawan, dressed in a pristine white kurta, also participated in the Aarti, symbolizing the unity of sports and cinema in celebrating Akshay Kumar's special day.

Akshay Kumar's last on-screen outing was in Amit Rai's 'OMG 2,' where he portrayed the role of a messenger of Lord Shiva, earning widespread acclaim for his performance. The film, a spiritual sequel to 'OMG - Oh My God!,' also featured stellar performances from Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam, and achieved considerable success at the box office.

On the eve of his birthday, Akshay Kumar had a special gift for his fans: the announcement of his upcoming film, 'Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue.' This project, featuring Parineeti Chopra, Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, Ravi Kishan, and Rajesh Sharma in significant roles, is based on the tragic Raniganj Coalfields collapse of 1989 in West Bengal. Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, the film is set to hit theaters on October 5, with the teaser already creating buzz among audiences.
