Actor Govinda sends message from hospital after suffering a bullet injury

This morning, actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda sustained injuries after accidentally shooting himself in the leg with his own revolver on the morning of October 1. He was taken to the hospital due to the leg injuries, according to initial reports.

Just hours after being admitted to a Mumbai hospital for a bullet injury to his leg, renowned actor Govinda shared an audio clip expressing his gratitude to his fans for their blessings. The injury occurred below his knee when his licensed gun accidentally misfired.

The actor expressed that the blessings from his fans, parents, and guru saved him. "I was hit by a bullet, but it has been extracted. I thank the doctors here and your prayers," he said in the audio clip.

The actor sustained the injury around 4:45 am today while preparing to leave for the airport to catch a flight to Kolkata. At the time of the incident, he was alone and is also a Shiv Sena leader.

His manager, Shashi Sinha, stated that Govinda was keeping his licensed revolver in a cupboard when it accidentally fell to the floor and discharged, hitting him below the knee. The actor contacted his wife, Sunita Ahuja, who was in Kolkata, as well as his manager. Shortly after, the police arrived at his Juhu home and took him to the nearby Criticare Hospital. According to his manager, his condition is stable, and he remains at the hospital with his daughter Tina by his side.

"We had a 6 am flight to catch for a show in Kolkata and I had reached the airport. Govinda ji was about to leave his residence for the airport when this accident happened," the actor's manager said. "It is due to God's grace that Govinda ji sustained only a leg injury and it was nothing serious," he added.
