Aamir Khan and his sister Nikhat share sweet Rakhi moments; fans touched by heartwarming Raksha Bandhan PICS

Bollywood stars embraced the festive spirit of Raksha Bandhan this year with grandeur, including Aamir Khan. The actor joyfully exchanged Rakhis with his sister Nikhat Hegde, sharing sweet moments captured in various pictures she posted on Instagram. Dressed elegantly in traditional attire, Aamir lovingly fed sweets to his elder sister Nikhat during the celebration.

Nikhat Khan Hegde, the eldest daughter of filmmaker Tahir Hussain and Zeenat Hussain, shares siblings with actors Aamir Khan, Faisal Khan, and sister Farhat Khan Datta. Initially a model and producer, Nikhat recently delved into acting. Her most recent role was portraying Shah Rukh Khan's foster mother in his comeback film Pathaan (2023).

Curious why Aamir Khan tied Rakhi to his sister when it's typically the other way around? Nikhat recently spoke to HT City and revealed, “Aamir ties us Rakhi too — ki aisa nahin hai ki only he has to protect us; we, too, have to protect him. So, hum unko aur woh humko Rakhi bandhtey hain, which is very sweet.” During the same interview, she also mentioned that their other sister Farhat is not in India, so she will perform the rituals on her behalf while dearly missing her.

“Last year, I was traveling, so she did it for me. Usually, we go to Aamir’s house and we do the little ritual of tika, with diya and mithai. Us din sweets ka bhi koi parhez nahin rehta, khila hi dete hain!,” shared Nikhat.

Aamir Khan's last film was Laal Singh Chaddha in 2022 with Kareena Kapoor Khan. Though the movie faced challenges at the box office, it gained significant praise upon its OTT release. Khan's upcoming project is the sequel to his hit film Taare Zameen Par, titled Sitaare Zameen Par, a sports drama that will star Genelia Deshmukh.
