The entertainer was very popular with urban audiences and drew perspective on contemporary familial and romantic connections. It was also one of the highest-grossing Bollywood movies of 2011 both domestically and abroad, and it was hailed as a blockbuster both in India and overseas.
The film, which was produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar of Excel Entertainment, was directed by renowned director Zoya Akhtar and starred Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar, Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, pivotal roles, along with Naseerudin Shah and Kalki Koechlin in supporting roles.
