Aitraaz 2: Subhash Ghai Confirms Sequel to Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, and Priyanka Chopra starrer

Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, and Priyanka Chopra's film Aitraaz marked its 20th anniversary of release yesterday. This morning, filmmaker Subhash Ghai took to Instagram to praise Priyanka Chopra's performance in the film and announced the sequel, Aitraaz 2.

Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor & Priyanka Chopra starrer Aitraaz clocked 20 years of release yesterday. And this morning filmmaker Subhash Ghai shared a post on Instagram lauding the performance of PeeCee followed by the announcement of Aitraaz 2.

Sharing the still of Priyanka Chopra from the movie, Ghai wrote, “BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL PRIYANKA CHOPRA DARED N DID IT. That’s why cine lovers can not forget her performance even after 20 years today in #AITRAZ – produced my Mukta arts When she was too apprehensive to do this role of an ardent ambitious woman but did it with full confidence. Now MUKTA ARTS is ready for AITRAZ 2 with a finest script with 3 years of hard work Just wait n watch."

Talking about the sequel, Subhash exclusively told Hindustan Times, “I’ve heard a fantastic script from Amit Rai, the writer-director of Oh My God 2, which has been written as Aitraaz 2 now. We are getting so many calls from various studios that they are interested in making the film. And I must say that Amit again has a big hit script with him at the moment. I really loved it."

Talking about the femal lead, he said,

We do have a wish list, but let’s see who will be finalised. It will be a bold role again which I am sure will get a lot of awards for the actor, as it did for Priyanka

Directed by Abbas-Mustan, Aitraaz also starred Amrish Puri, Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Vivek Shauq, Preeti Puri, Upasana Singh, and Dinesh Lamba in key roles. Loosely based on the 1994 film Disclosure, the movie released alongside Veer-Zaara, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, and Rani Mukerji, which also featured cameos by Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini
