Zoya Akhtar reveals the reason behind 'Jee Le Zaraa's' delay

The excitement surrounding the upcoming road-trip film Jee Le Zaraa has been building ever since it was officially announced in 2021. Starring Bollywood heavyweights Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, and Katrina Kaif, the film quickly became one of the most anticipated projects. However, fans have been left waiting as the movie's production has faced repeated delays.
In a recent interview with The Indian Express, the film's producer, Zoya Akhtar, finally shed some light on what's been holding up the project. Zoya revealed that the primary reason for the delay has been the challenge of coordinating the schedules of the three leading ladies, as well as the film's director, Farhan Akhtar. "I think aligning the three of them, their dates, and Farhan, his dates," Zoya explained. The task of finding a time when all four key figures are available has proven to be more difficult than anticipated.
The delay has only fueled the anticipation for Jee Le Zaraa, making it a hot topic of discussion among Bollywood fans. The film, which is presented by Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby, is written by Zoya Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar, and Reema Kagti, with production credits going to Reema, Zoya, Ritesh Sidhwani, and Farhan.
When the film was first announced, it created a buzz not just for its stellar cast but also for the fact that it would bring together three of Bollywood's most beloved actresses in a story centered around female friendships. Priyanka Chopra took to Instagram at the time to share her excitement, posting a picture with Alia and Katrina and revealing that the idea for the movie came about during a meeting in February 2020. Priyanka's heartfelt note mentioned how the trio immediately knew that Farhan Akhtar and his team were the right people to bring their vision to life.
As Jee Le Zaraa continues to be one of the most awaited films, fans eagerly await further updates on when the cameras will finally start rolling.
