Shafi Muhammad passes away

KARACHI: Renowned actor Shafi Muhammad died late on Saturday at the age of 57. He complained of chest pain and was rushed to the hospital where he breathed his last.

Gulab Chandio, actor and a close friend of Shafi's, said the latter was hospitalised two months earlier as well with some damage to his liver and an infection.

Shafi featured in more than 50 drama serials and over 100 long plays on PTV and other channels. He first became famous after his performance in the early 80s' famous drama serial "Deewarein". Other famous performances include those in "Chand Grahan", "Aanch", "Nasal" and "Jangal".

Shafi was also an active member of the Pakistan People's Party.

His funeral will be held at his residence in Sea View Apartments Block 20-A in DHA today (Sunday). staff report

Very very sad... may Allah give him a high place in Jannah, inshAllah. He was quite young to die. 57 is nothing.
