It is also not just about male vs female co-actors I think, but also if the co-actor is a big enough celeb. Usama, Hareem and Tooba were all spared trolling more or less, as was Amar. So, if the co-actor is some low-level celeb, they get spared.

The level of offscreen bond with the co-actor is another factor. Anmol got so much hate coz she was rumoured to be dating Hamza. Kubra got a lot of hate in early days of Sahad.

May be more popular actors make them insecure that they might replace their OG pair in popularity.

Yeah I know about Sahad fans. They were so toxic.

We really need to define what is trolling and what is not:

What is not trolling:

  • Discussing Box Office, TRPs and views of film and TV projects (expectations, actual)
  • Critiquing a project for its story writing acting production pairing
  • Saying you don't like an outfit or styling or personal style of a celeb
  • Discussing celebs careers, professional connections, public image
  • Discussing celebs personal lives (within limits)
  • Humorous memes and roasts

What is trolling:

  • Character assassination and degradation
  • Slander
  • Sl*t shaming
  • Body shaming
  • Age shaming
  • Use of insults, slurs, abuses, taunts, inflammatory, vicious and vile language & analogies
  • Hate-mongering
  • Fabricating false rumours and fake narratives meant to undermine, sabotage, degrade
  • Constant targeted harassment
  • Baiting and pile-ups
  • Insulting, abusing, harassing family members

ALL celebs have been trolled. NO celeb is spared. But the scale, frequency, intensity and viciousness of trolling is not same for everyone.

maybe because Maya is wahaj's best friend and she has good chemistry with him.

We ought to be able to discuss the general culture of celebrityhood on SM here. This is not same as replicating or invoking fd wars here. If someone asks a question on whether female or male co-actors get trolled more on SM, or how do you define celebrity trolling, we should be able to have a discussion on this. Banning this type of broader discussion on the dynamics of modern celebrityhood in the age of SM but in ptv context would be unfortunate. We can define parameters and redlines of such discussions so as to not incite fan wars here.

Just my two cents.

What is trolling?

Trolling is when someone posts or comments online to ‘bait’ people, which means deliberately provoking an argument or emotional reaction. In some cases they say things they don’t even believe, just to cause drama. In other cases, they may not agree with the views of another person or group online, so they try to discredit, humiliate or punish them. This may include online hate – personal attacks that target someone because of their race, culture, religion, gender, sexual orientation or disability. The troll may also encourage mob mentality, urging others to join in the attack so it becomes a pile on.

Trolls also often try to downplay the impact of their behaviour, claiming anyone who’s upset by their posts or comments is overreacting. They may say it was just a joke, or the person who they targeted needs to toughen up. This can make the person who was trolled feel even worse.

Not a self made or self proclaimed statement by changing and twisting the things.

Some trolled Yumna by claiming that this show will get 20+ million views and15+ trp for a new channel. Even its views were declared fake. Havent seen such trolling and negativity for a show before.

How many terebin fans Supported Yumna during GM?? Even Yumna getting trolled on this forum. Day and night Pepole make fun of her both onscreem and offscreen actions . Then why some are keeping their silence?? Wahaj is not the only one who got hate but Yumna received more hate than Wahaj. Leave all other SM sites and toxic fans on twitter or insta but why some users dont speak against the hate , personal slanders ,age and face shaming of Yumna on this forum?? As she is trolled the most on this forum.

Many are showing their concern how Maya, Ayeza and other actress getting extreme hate by fd then why nobody is talking about the hate Yumna is receiving on this forum??

You will never get any answer for this smiley36

Celebrity trolling or Political trolling is not same as trolling an ordinary person on the internet.

Completely agree with this. Trolling is trolling and there is a difference between constructive critisim and making fun of some actor in the name of giving opinions.
