Dashrath always favoured shri ram. I mean rest were his son's too.. bas yehi hai ramayan mein bhaiyon ka pyar and respect is very good.. but yeh favouritism I was not liking
Rest u said. Mujhe bhi seat arrangement ajeeb laga. Imagine on a flight of 2-3 hrs u have to travel standing only..
Arre kuch nahi toh zameen par hi bitha do Bhai
But treta yug kuch bhi possible hai
Dashratha was the king.Of course,Ram being the 1st born,he loved him more .It's said that Dashratha loved him more,NOT that he didn't love the other kids. There is a difference because love cannot be quantified. In Indian homes also, parents have their secret favourite child. They will never ever admit it,but it's the reality of every family. This doesn't mean they totally ignore the other or are partial or treat the least favourite one unkindly. They are not like that . Parents love that child most who they think is an extension of their own self or mothers love that child more who they think is weak and need protection .
Ram was the eldest son by a mere technicality . Bharat was born the next day and the twins after 2 days. Thus, ideally all are eligible to be the king. But Dashratha extends invitation to all his allies, courtiers, ministers, rishis, learned men ,representatives from the common man to discuss whether Ram is fit to be the king or not.So after intense discussion only he appoints Ram as his successor, not because he loved his son more.Relatives out of selfishness may influence the judgement .Hence the closest Sambaddhi were not invited.Quite Fair!!That's why relatives from Mithila and keikeya were not invited.
After all it's the future of Ayoddhya for the next few thousands of years .Dashratha was close to 62,040 years at the time of coronation of Ram.
He also loved his 2nd wife more but knew her true nature. She was haughty, egoistic ,fiery and arrogant. She may abuse her powerful position more if Bharat is made the king. Thus he pre -empted that relatives from Kaikeya may hamper the plans .Relatives of Mithila may also influence the decision.Hence his plan to do coronation asap just in case Bharat doesn't obey the national order. At the end ,he as a king was just taking precautions. Its more real.
In ancient cultures across the countries (perhaps in India too,not sure)the person appointed as prince may gain more power. As a result, other princes used to leave the palace and live away from the limelight. But a lot of times princes from other queens, concubines were killed to prevent a future rebellion if someone wants to overthrow the ruling king .This makes sense.Though this didn't happen in Ramayana, it makes more sense that Dashratha was just taking precautions.
