toss time. Rashid Khan and Assad Vala are out there in the middle. Rashid gives the coin a spin. Vala calls heads, and tails it is. Afghanistan will bowl first. He says dew could be a factor later on, and they have to be well-prepared, having the mindset to chase as well.

Assad Vala - We would have bowled as well, but the batters will need to set the tone for us. We had a few days off and we're well rested. We have played well and will look to do the same against Afghanistan tonight. One change based on conditions - Charles Amini misses out

Rashid Khan - We want to bowl first, the dew could be a factor later on, but we'll have to do the basics well and the mindset is to chase. WE had a good break of 6 days, it gave us time to recover fully for this match. We aren't thinking about Super Eights as yet, each game is very important and we're taking this game seriously. No changes for us

The same surface as that one used last night. A nice breeze is blowing across at 15 kmph. 65m and 67m square boundaries while the straight hit is at 74m. There are some bare patches with a few dents around, so expect variable pace and bounce. You'll need to get accustomed to the conditions as Rutherford did and he used the vertical bat instead of horizontal bat to score his runs. That's the way to play on this pitch, reckon Darren Ganga and Simon Doull, in their pitch report
