Oh for... the covers haven't quite done there job - there is a wet patch on a good length. There's going to be another inspection at 11:15am local time (4:15pm BST), but I'm not entirely sure how that is going to dry by then, unless someone's got a hairdryer on them. Let's get stuck in. Incidentally, there are 90 mins of extra time factored in for morning matches, so still some time in the bank before overs lost in case there's another delay.

The sun is out now. The sun seems to have disappeared. Berrington and co. have decided to bat first. We will start in less than 10 minutes. The teams are ready for the anthems. Remember, England have never won against a European team in T20 WC. They lost to Netherlands in 2009 and 2014. They lost to Ireland in 2022 as well. The anthem of Scotland is first.
