Here's Meghnath and Sulochana's love story and also reason why Lakshman killed him

Thank you for sharing smiley1

Interesting

But it says Sheshnag was elder brother of Vasuki

So Sulochana is not direct daughter of Laxman

It really irks me whenever i see the line ' Sita was abandoned by her husband' at later time after they return to Ayodhya in books based on Ramayan. Doesn't feel good at all. I wonder is it really possible 😧 since i have heard Uttarkaand wasn't there in original epic but later added.

That part is in UttarKand of Valmiki Ramayana, and that too when she was pregnant

It's an extrapolation as per a lot of the books. It eas added much later. The original adi kavya ends at Ramji's coronation.

Many claim it is a later addition. But so is the Bala Kand. However that is for scholarly discussion, religiously it was always considered a part of Ramayana

UttarKand was probably a Prequel+Sequel to Ramayana

That is another myth, Ramayana never mentions Urmila sleeping for 14 years. Even Ramanand Sagar didn't show this

Don't know why they are keen in bringing so much of mythical folklore

That is not distortion

Uttar Kand has been considered to be a part of Ramayan for over 1000 years (at the least), that vividly mentions Seeta Parityaga especially in her pregnancy without even informing her.

One might or might not accept Uttar Ramayana as original, but still one can't call those accepting it as wrong

it always bothers me too! That Ram is supposed to he a god and idk how god can do that to his own wife (and later kids) just due to some rando accusing her. The Agni pariskha she gave was sufficient to show her purity. And the fact that this one thing negates every other great thing he does. Remember seeing a lot of discussions during the Ram mandir event of how Ram is unworthy etc.

I haven’t read the actual Ramayan so I don’t know the details but this part always irked me of how a god (man) who respected Dharma and justice so much could do that. Was it some curse that he had? That he and Sita had to fulfill?
