Some people are sour pusses or salty in life, if they are in Bollywood they start to trash it and wish for Hollywood BUT if he was in Hollywood he would trash and wish for Bollywood...and on it goes because these people are not happy anywhere, they carry their issue inside them every place they go. If they are chased by the paps they yell at them and tell them to stay away if no one pays him any attention then he screams discrimination... Basically I personally think he is a fabulous actor, who always had a stubborn streak about doing things his way...I do not know intimate details. However it sometimes seems that he feels he has not gotten lauded enough, or given his due attention and he seems like someone who is not very patient with mistakes and contrary opinions. Like I say I think he is a great actor, I love to watch him in anything ( not on his personal political opinions) but his work it self, for me Finding Fanny was brilliant, the nutty cast and the comedic time was fabulous, not to mention it shows a side of India many people have no idea exists.

With that said he could have moved or left the industry there and gone to Hollywood.

He's worked in Hollywood - he's not overly enamored of it either. 😆

That is because Hollywood is big leagues and on the moral meter it goes from the most sublime and kind to the most sordid and dark any human can imagine. Hollywood shows the public a beautiful made up fantasy, but for every one that makes it to the top, Hollywood has chewed up and spit out a lot of souls. The battle field is covered, it is not called Lost Angeles for nothing.

I do not blame him if he equally dislikes it...BUT if you are allergic to pollen you do not become an arborist or florist...if you do, no matter what the odds then you have to know allergy meds are a must and often you may still brake out in a rash.

I like Mr. Naseeruddin Shah a lot, I really do but.....

Peace, I enjoy reading your posts. 😳

Anyone here who loves every aspect of their job? 100%?

Artistic types here who continue to work anyway either for bread and butter or for the sheer fact you simply can't stop doing it just like you can't stop breathing?

Commercial BW movies are mindless, but he makes money there. Arthouse cinema doesn't pay well, but he is able to exercise his acting chops there. Like many of us, he likely wishes he could do what he loves and make money at it. So?

It ain't hypocrisy to say what you think. Actually, just the opposite.

May be he believes in original content. I once read his article where he was criticizing film directors for not bringing in creative ideas, rather copying stuff from here and there that he doesn't like at all. Great actor, liked his acting in Bezuban.

His next film stars Tusshar Kapoor. It has to be hard. But he's smiling on set 😆

Has anyone watched Bandish Bandits, an Amazon prime original? He was pretty good there like always... this thread reminded me of it. I also hope to see the actors there in other shows/movies in future.

he knows how things go in the inside , and being the actor of his calibre it must be disheartening to see glamour rule over talent .
