Watched two Ingmar Bergman's movies.. I guess I am going through a phase where I am obsessed with him
Winter LightLOVED it. The story is about a clergyman, who is going through an existential crisis.. the questions he has are those which we ourselves deal with at some point in our lives, how apparent 'God's silence' wavers our trust in Him, it can make us feel quite hopeless. And the ending.. how the disabled man talks of Jesus Christ, throws his light on the story(Passion of the Christ).. the DIALOGUES, dialogues are gold ❤️ The actress who played his lover too - loved the cleric's lover's character(Marta) sooo much, the love she has for him - it's really beautiful - one of the best characters I have ever seen in cinema, her character will be unforgettable for me.Hour of the WolfThis one was scary.. really scary in some parts. It's a story about an insomniac (troubled) artist dealing with his 'demons' (imaginations - a few having to do with his past) and how he is consumed by them... and from what I understood, it shows how when a woman loves a man, after a while of being together, she tries and starts to think like the man she loves, and, can see through the man's eyes atleast upto an extent .. (like his wife also says), but shouldn't it help prevent the mishap that happened in the end? It only frightens her when he too starts to open up. This is also the wife's question in the end.. if she could've prevented his death had she loved him less. Again, loved some dialogues... but there was some nasty spooky stuff - I had to watch on mute for a few scenes. Not Ingmar's best.. but it did make me think about love, and how else could the wife have saved the man from his own demons that were consuming him to the point of harming and scaring away his wife
