You know, I haven't watched Shukk...Ayesha Khan's droopy eyes just put me off. You think it's worth a watch? I haven't watched that other show jiya na jaye or something - there too, the girl paired against him put me off...
Loved Adeel's Zeeshan 😳 - he was the only sane thing in the whole show - his dialogues and actions were realistic and his exasperation at Romaisa was so understandable! I found it hard to believe that it was an Umera Ahmed script. The direction was also lacklustre. Adeel was the only reason I liked the show. Not to mention how easy he is on the eyes 😳 ...
I agree about Adeel not getting his due - may be his style of subtle, nuanced acting, his sense of humour etc are not everyone's cup of tea? I do wish he is acknowledged more - he is such an intelligent actor and is good at what he does. Have you seen some short films he's directed when he was working on MeJaan - he is very talented. Mehreen even used his photos on the last episode of Daam (he was given credit for those pics)...really wish him more success...
Jackson Heights looks like a good show, I liked the teasers - the dialogues are realistic, the actors are good and of course it's MJ's work, so expectations are high. Mondays 8 pm slot - I can't remember what other shows will this one be competing against at that slot?
Shukk starts off really well. I loved Adeel's character Shaam from the beginning till the middle..but then the writer loses the plot completely and his character goes from very likable to very annoying. The show was good only up until a certain point. I think the show did well in terms of ratings because everything was all over the place and there was always this suspense factor. Nonetheless, Adeel's acting was really good..it's another thing that his overall character was nothing brilliant and neither was the show in its entirety. I wouldn't really waste my time on it. It's not a Daam or anything.
Zeeshan was seriously the best character in Subh Ka Sitara by far! I mentioned a few pages back how he looked really good in that show. Arguably, I think he looked his best as Zeeshan. he actually looked like a police officer..and you could tell he even toned himself for the role? His character made the most sense. The show was perhaps one of Umera's weakest..but, I really do think the second half was better than the first half of the show. I could not stand Romaisa in the first half. I also feel Zeeshan always pushed Romaisa to overcome the nonsense she had to face..meanwhile, Nabeel never did that and that bothered me. 😆 Oh, and how cute was Zeeshan and Maham's chemistry? They were sooo adorable together! I loved their scenes together! They didn't even talk or anything..yet their interactions said it all. I couldn't believe Zeeshan's wife though...I'd run with Adeel if I was her. 😆 She turned out to be so selfish and it seemed like a sudden change. She was pretty likable in the beginning. I loved how Zeeshan always tried doing the right thing..that was such a refreshing change for a male character. I was fearing how he'd be ready to marry Romaisa in a heartbeat, but he didn't because he was already married.
Oh no I haven't seen his short films..which ones have you seen? Yeah! I loved his photography on the sets of Daam. I liked how MJ used them in the ending credits. From whatever on the sets' photos I've seen Adeel take..I feel whatever photos he took during Daam, were his best.
Yeah, I agree..I don't think Adeel's the kind of actor that's everyone's cup of tea. Offscreen he comes across as intelligent and composed yet he has a humorous side to him. I'm glad that he has been more open to interviews etc recently. It's refreshing to see him offscreen, during interviews etc.
