Jeevika woke up suddenly feeling so cold, yet protected in her husbands arms.
j - "I fell asleep?" she said rubbing her eyes
v - "Fell asleep, snored for almost an hour, and did some sleep talking"
j - "Your joking me right?"
v - "Not at all. I have everything recorded on my phone if you'd like to hear?"
j - "Viren you better not be serious"
v - "I'm dead serious. Next time you plan on revealing another one of my deep dark secrets to my evil-minded sister just remember the video and audio recording I have of you"
j - "What is wrong with you?"
v - "What is wrong with you? You haven't slept in days and you think I don't know?"
j - "Yeah whatever now that you're making me move I just have lots of stuff to complete"
v - "Really? Like what?"
j - "My paperwork at the lab and my scheduling. Im also in works of finding an apartment"
v - "But didn't you say they're offering you an apartment?"
j - "Yeah but I still have to choose which specific one I want and since it will take me a few days to adjust and settle in, I have to start my work on the clinical trial right now"
v - "My busy wife" he said kissing her forehead
j - "We have a flight to catch tonight, lets get moving"
v - "I'm going to miss Goa. This was such an amazing trip don't you think?"
j - "I'm sure it was for you" she said getting up.
v - "And it wasn't for you?" he asked curiously
j - "No. Had I known you were forcing me to move I probably wouldn't have even come to India in the first place or even told you about the offer. But yeah I know we're not talking about this anymore so lets go get ready" she said starting to walk towards the inside of their resort.
Vren followed her inside after putting his t-shirt on and they headed upstairs to their room. While Jeevika went to shower, Viren started getting together all their stuff and packing their bags.
j - "I'll finish the rest, you go shower" she said moving him to put her stuff in the bags.
Viren took her hands and put them on her shoulders then put his hands on her waist.
v - "I'm going to miss seeing you coming out the shower with the water dripping out of your hair"
j - "I'm going to miss coming home to two steaming cups of coffee made by my husband" she said placing her head on his shoulder.
v - "I'm going to miss you and Veera making fun of me"
Jeevika moved her head away and smiled at him.
j - "You know I was thinking that" she said looking down.
v - "What were you thinking"
j - "That maybe after you move in with me and we're together again that maybe we can uhm try"
v - "Try? Try what... Oh you mean try?"
j - "Yeah" she said blushing towards him.
v - "You think you're ready?"
j - "I just need something to look forward to right now so I can forget about the fact that we won't be together for sometime. And honestly every time I think of those two baby outfits you bought I can't get the idea of having a baby out of my head"
v - "You know something, I can't either" he said smiling really obviously. "So its a deal, after a few months when we'll both be together again we're going to try to bring a new life into this world"
j - "I can't wait now" she said hugging him again.
v - "Okay I'll go shower why don't you finish the rest of the packing then we can leave"
j - "Okay" she said smiling.
one week later (back home)...
Viren walked inside the garage and saw a bunch of boxes packed with different labels on each. He just looked at them until he heard the door open and Jeevika coming through. He put his stuff down and took the box in her hands and placed it down.
j - "Thanks"
v - "Mhmm. What else is left? I'll help you now"
j - "Actually that was the last box. My bags are packed too"
v - "You're finished with everything? Really?"
j - "Yeah why are you saying it like that?"
v - "No nothing. Uhm should we go eat out"
j - "No its okay I made dinner and you must be tired"
v - "Nope I'm fine. Lets go out and then maybe you can try talking to Veera for me?"
j - "The chocolates didn't work?"
v - "Nope she hung up on me almost five times today"
j - "Okay well we can go talk to her, but we should have dinner at home"
v - "I want to take you out though"
j - "Okay whatever you want. You better make it special though, our last dinner for a while"
v - "I'll be coming this weekend"
j - "Wait what?"
v - "Yeah I booked my flight today. I'll be leaving Thursday night from here and I'll be with you on the weekend"
j - "I didn't think you'd come this early" she said happily
v - "Well I made you a promise that I'd come every chance I could so I'm just fulfilling my promise" he said holding her hand.
j - "I'll go get ready really quickly and then we can go"
v - "Okay"
Viren sat on the couch and tried calling Veera again. He knew she would be upset with the fact of Jeevika leaving, but not this upset that she would ignore his phone calls even.
j - "Lets go Viren, I need to come home asap cause my flights early morning"
v - "Okay, by the way she didn't pick up my phone call again"
j - "Well lets go to the hospital first then"
v - "Thank You!" he said opening the door for her.
They both got into the car and Viren started driving to the hospital.
v - "You think we should go eat dinner first?"
j - "Stop being scared of your younger sister"
v - "I'm not scared" he said trying to lie
j - "Oh yes you are. She can't be mad at you forever. Well I don't blame her though?"
v - "Not now Jeevika"
j - "Okay okay. Lets just go there and you can talk to her in person"
v - "What if she sends another nurse to me and says that visiting hours are over?"
j - "Well get into the room before any nurse can stop you and look her into her eyes. Trust me, she loves you a lot to be this mad at you"
v - "Seems she loves you more. My sister has never ignored me like this in my life. She's had fights with everyone at home from mom to Virat to Bua but now I'm on her hitless"
j - "Thanks to me"
v - "Whatever. I'm too scared to go in even"
j - "Get a grip Viren. I'll wait here. If she sees us together then she will remember we aren't gonna be together anymore" she said looking down at her lap sadly.
Viren just put his hand on her shoulder trying to share his warmth with her, but he knew she was dying inside and so was he. Probably the most since Veera was ignoring him and Jeevika leaving him. Viren went inside the hospital, but returned fairly quickly surprising Jeevika. She couldn't believe Veera could possibly be this mad with her brother.
j - "What happened? Should I go and talk to her?"
v - "No she's asleep. The nurse said she was having a rough day so she ate dinner and has been asleep for a while. I don't want to disturb her more"
j - "Yeah its better not to. But I'm surprised why she didn't even message me or you if she wasn't having a good day"
v - "Because she has Armaan now and she doesn't need us"
j - "She doesn't need me, but she will always need her big bro you know?"
v - "I don't think it makes a difference to her whether I'm here or not"
j - "Oh please. You fight with the people you love the most, and you know that"
v - "Is it okay if we go home?"
j - "You okay?"
v - "No not really" he said in a jittery voice
j - "Viren please tell me"
v - "There's nothing to be told Jeevika"
j - "She will be fine and I will be fine too I promise"
v - "And me? I'm not gonna be fine"
j - "You will be fine because you will have the best of both worlds"
v - "What do you mean?"
j - "You won't have a wife complaining all the time next to you right? When you see me I'm always just gonna be happy to be with you. If you think about it we're really sugar-coating our marriage right now"
v - "If you say so"
j - "Are you hungry?"
v - "Not really"
The two of them got out of the car and went inside their home. Viren held onto Jeevika's hand and they went and sat on the couch. Viren eventually moved his head onto his wife's lap. He just closed his eyes trying to suck in the moment.
