@ Bold - Absolutely true!! Akshara has become incorrigible now. She was anyways impossible and insensitive for a long time. But taking someone for granted every single time is a clear sign that she doesn't respect the person or their love.

Here the problem is not slow character growth. It's one step forward, two steps back scenario. So much so that we are unable to trust any change / growth.

And yes, practically speaking, marriage at this point is not making any damn sense to me. Families hate each other, Abhi has his fears that are clouding every word and act, Akshara is actually thinking when he said - wedding with me / our love or your sister attending the wedding.

His words alone if you see, of course one would feel it's a tough decision for her to make. But the whole picture is that these two caused the accident to his mom, left her to die and fled the scene. Yet he is there standing in front of his whole family, defying them, saying he wants to marry her. Asking Arohi, who was in the driver seat, to not be a part of the wedding is an extremely small price. Yet she is thinking. It comes across as Abhi throwing an unreasonable tantrum and Akshara stuck between pacifying him and the love of her sister.

@ red - but that is how character growth works in writing. It is always one step forward, and then at least 2 steps backward and at times it looks like character has gone straight back to where they were in the beginning of story and at times they will also make the same mistakes as well.

During the character transformation, the character has to learn a lot (through various challenges) to eventually let go of their mistaken belief. That cannot happen overnight.

@ blue - this is one of her Akshu's qualities though. From day one she has been shown to think things through before deciding on something - it may look slow, or a step behind Abhi - but it is her nature .

sirat gave Nairas kids her love in her way. She treated them like own but she can't set her own daughter right. She knew ar is different and like her mom so hooked ak who was quiet and loving all. Yes everytime ar do any kaand by default ak is made part of it so that she can get sympathy and akshra is bashed for being supporting her which is a major writing flaw. despite this Ar is still hated by masses of course there are few who sympathise with her , dont even want o comment on that. People dont understand the gravity to which ak has been conditioned and for that matter kairav too , its seems their only motto in sirat's life was to create them as sheild to her own brat daughter. mothers like sirat prove why step mom cant take place of real mother and then we have step mothers like ishita how show how step moms can be more right than real mother. sad realites

I think after 10 novels and 2 movie scripts, I know how character growth is written, my dear. :)

My issue is with the story line and tracks that seem to have lost connect with the characters. Maybe because of multiple writers handling things, I don't know. Leads of the story need not be perfect. That would make a boring story, IMO.

And the way this story is going, I can see Akshara's character growth going in either one of the two ways:

1. She would be torn and wanting to choose the sister yet unable to, for whatever reason, until the adoption track or whatever comes out. Maybe writers are keeping her in this - dola re dola state so that it would give max impact on the audience when she chooses Abhi in that moment.

2. If there is no adotion track, this will continue and slow change after marriage will be shown.

Neither option appeals to me - not as a writer, not as a viewer.

All that aside, this accident track has completely put me off the show for one simple reason - FL crossed the line in her love for her sister and her desire to protect her.

@Bold - I have no issues with her thinking. But in all that thinking, never once the thought popped into her head - he could have lost his mom because of Aru and me. What he is asking is fair. It hurts me but it's the least I could do. Or... oh why didn't I stop and check!

Instead there is hope that once he cools down, he would forgive Arohi and let her be a part of the wedding. She, who has lost not one but two mothers, to get that thought or even think in that direction does not make any sense to me.
