Yes🤣 those days . We were and still possesive for MiNeil🤣 like we say leaving MiNeil kids ,Arya no one are allowed 🤣

I would love to write something on these lines where there are so many hangings between a couple and one of them is ok with hangings while other is not and this creates misunderstandings and difference of opinion

CHAPTER 4 DENIAL
Minni came home from her work. As she entered the house she felt an unnatural calmness on the faces of her family members. All were sitting having a serious look on their faces as if thinking about some important problem. For once she thought that may be his father has done something again but when she was about to ask them Naeem bi broke the silence. she asked Preet who was looking gloomy.
"Are you sure they want Minni to do it?"
Hearing her name, Minni was surprised. Till now she was thinking may be her father has done something problematic but it was something related to her. She tried to recall if she has done anything which can make her family upset but couldn't think of anything. she was about to ask them directly but this time it was Preet who replied to Naeem bi and thereby stopped Minni from uttering any word.
"What do you think Naeem bi…am I deaf…or dumb..or something else….I heard it correct….they don't want me…they want Minni."
Now losing all the patience finally Minni spoke before anybody could stop her again.
"Willl anybody tell me whats going on here? Why you all are upset?And who wants me, for what?"
They all turned their faces towards the door where Minni was standing, looking confused. Preet looked her upside down. She was wearing a simple salwar kurti and carrying a jute bag full of vegetables, then Preet looked to herself in the mirror as if trying to figure out something. Minni felt weird about it but kept quiet.
"Mumma, Naeem bi….just look at her…from which angle she looks like a heroine? And look at me…I have everything a heroine should have…looks, talent, style…then why not me…why her…she is not even interested in this field." Preet cried.
Minni now shouted gaining everyone's attention. "For God sake…please somebody tell me whats happening? Why Preet kaure is behaving like this….what is it all about?"
Preet become angry as she remembered what actually happened, "I will tell you everything. She narrated the whole story to her-
FLASHBACK-
Preet was cheerful and happy as always she was reading filmy gossip magazine with utmost interest when her mobile rang. She felt bit irritated as she was reading latest gossip about Neil Oberoi but when it rang again she stood up to answer it.
"Hello, who is this?" Preet tried to mask her annoyance but failed.
"Hello, am I talking to Miss Preet?" person from the other side inquired.
"No, you are talking to miss world." Preet answered still annoyed at the disturbance.
"Ji matlab?" The guy on the phone was confused.
"Offo! matlab chhodiye…aur ye bataiye ki phone kyu kiya…main hi Preet hoon." She finally answered.
"Actually madam I am calling from Oberoi production house. Neil sir have seen your audition and wanted to cast you in his upcoming film. So can you come here to talk, Neil sir wants to meet you personally.
Preet was totally surprised, phone slid from her hands as she couldn't believe what she heard she stammering, "Neil…the Neil Oberoi….wants to…cast me…" She realized that phone slid from her hands and picked it up quickly.
"Hello, madam…are you there?" production guy asked.
"Yes…I am here…yes tell me when I have to come?" Preet answered excitedly but suddenly her excitement faded as she thought of other possibilities." Hey you are not joking right!! I have not given any audition for his film then how come he chose me?" She put forward her doubt.
"Oh no madam…Neil sir actually saw that audition which you have given for Vishal chopra's movie which got cancelled later. So can you come today at 10 am." production guy informed.
"Yes off course…I will be there." Preet cut the phone and thanked God for this opportunity then went to get ready.
As she entered Oberoi productions office, she was greeted by that production guy who told her to sit and wait for Neil sir. She did what she was asked to and felt butterflies in her stomach on the thought of meeting Neil face to face. Soon her wait was over and Neil came. She stood up to greet him but he looked her in confusion and then took out his phone and yelled at someone to come there immediately. That production guy came rushing towards him and started stammering fearing his wrath "Yes sir…what happen sir?"
"You told the girl was waiting here for me, where is she?" Neil asked getting angry now as he was expecting Minni.
The production guy looked from Neil to Preet in confusion, "…she is right here" He pointed towards Preet.
Neil shouted at the top of his voice, "You dimwit…I wasn't talking about this girl. I was talking about another girl. Minni, her name is Minni, do you get me, now call her right now." Neil left leaving Preet disappointed.
"I am sorry ma'am it was my mistake. Neil sir was talking about that another girl in the tape. Miss Minni, I assume she is your relative. Can you give her contact number?" production guy asked getting embarrassed from the whole situation.
Preet truned her face away to hide her tears. She was feeling sad and angry at the same time, "No need, she is my sister. I will convey your message to her."
FLASHBEACK ENDS
There were fresh tears in Preet's eyes as she finished telling Minni everything. At last she burst out, "why this happens to me all the time? Why destiny plays such games with me all the time?" she ran inside her room and locked it but her sobs could be heard loud and clear.
Minni kept standing there shocked. She was feeling numerous emotions at once, surprise, curiosity, anger right now. Surprise of knowing she was selected for the movie. Curiosity for knowing the reason of her selection and anger on destiny and God for being so unfair with Preet. But she got a grip over her emotions and walked towards Preet's room and knocked it pleading again and again to open the door, "Preet kaure yaar, open the door. I didn't know anything about it. I am as shocked as you. Please understand….you know I am not interested in this. I will say no to them..please open the door." But all her efforts gone in vain as Preet didn't opened the door. She went and set with Naeem bi and Babita in drawing room. Again that unnatural calmness got spread in the room as no one knew how to handle this situation.
It was only at late night that Preet finally opened the room. She found everyone sitting in the same position and at same place. As she came out of room all looked at her. Now she looked calm and composed, no more anger, no more tears. It seemed as if she has decided something. She moved towards Minni who was sitting on a chair.
Preet set beside her on her knees. "Minni, I am sorry for my behavior. I shouldn't have reacted that way."
Minni squeezed her hands in assurance, "Its ok Preet kaure, I didn't feel bad for myself. I was worried for you."
"I know but don't worry I am fine now…first I felt bad when they selected you but now I have decided…I will not come in my sister's way." Preet said.
"What are you saying. I am happy in my normal life. I don't want to do any films, specially this one which is offered to me crushing my Preet kaure's dreams." Minni shook her head in disagreement.
"You are not understanding Minni. Lucky are the people who get break in films so easily, without any struggle and that too apposite Neil Oberoi! Look at me, don't you know how much I am trying but you got this golden opportunity…don't waste it." Preet tried to explain.
"There is no point of discussing it. I don't want this…this is not my dream, my dreams are simple and I am happy with my simple life. I don't wish to become famous actress." Minni rejected the idea.
"Preet now become angry, "Oh please somebody put some brain into her head." She held Minni by her shoulders, "And what dreams are you talking about huh!...you want to buy a small flat…want to get settle in life and become housewife, start family…are these your dreams? Oh come on wake up sister..these are not dreams..these are compromises every girl makes when she doesn't get chance to fly high."
"I know you don't like my preferences but please its my life. Only I have the right to decide the priorities and I don't want to join films…thats it" Mini said with finality.
Preet went to Naeem bi, "At least you try to make her understand. Tell her she is making a big mistake."
Naeem bi nodded her head and went towards Minni, "Preet is right. You are lucky, Neil Oberoi himself has selected you. You will not get such chance again. Look at me, I have waited my whole life for this but never got a chance."
"Why all of you are forcing me? I don't like this false showbiz. I don't wanna be a part of it…..mumma tell them na." Minni looked towards Babita for support.
Babita assured her, "Dont worry my child. I am with you, if you don't want to do it then nobody will force you.
"Please Minni, look, if you will work with Neil Oberoi, you will come in touch with many high profile people in bollywood…ultimately it will help me in shaping up my career. Who knows I will get a film too. Please if you don't want to do it for yourself then do it for me, please." Preet presented another point of view in front of Minni.
Minni looked at the pleading face of Preet and gave it a thought, "But...Preet Kaure...."
Preet saw Minni is having second thoughts. She jumped at the opportunity and now implored Minni, "Please…for me…for my dreams…our dreams…just go and meet Neil Oberoi at least…please won't you do a little favour for me?"
Minni finally accepted defeat," Ok, I will go tomorrow to meet him but I can't promise anything. I will take my final decision after meeting him."
Preet hugged her in excitement.

Minni was waiting for Neil at Oberoi productions office. She was very nervous about this meeting. She was continuously thinking, "what could be the reason of choosing me? I don't even know acting…then why me?" She suddenly remembered her small meeting with Neil in the party and got scared, "oh god does he want to punish me for that day and humiliate me in front of everyone or will he even recognize me?" she was engrossed in her thoughts when she felt a hand on her shoulder, she turned around startled and lost her balance. She was about to fall and closed her eyes in fear of falling when two strong arms caught her from waist. She slowly opened her eyes and found two black magnetic eyes were looking at her intensely. She realized that owner of those eyes is none other than Neil Oberoi, she stood straight quickly and looked elsewhere to avoid his gaze.
"So Miss Minni, you came…glad to meet you properly this time." Neil said.
Minni realized from his words that he actually remember their first meeting, "Woh…I am sorry for that day…it was just…I was…"
"Its ok. I didn't mind it. I was only glad to see you Minni." Neil interrupted her in between and smirked at her seeing her all nervous.
"I know what you might be thinking that I was some despo to gate crash your party like that but I am not. I just came there because of Preet kaure, my sister and today also I have just come because she insisted." Minni kept blabbering in order to explain the situation.
Neil laughed at her. "Its ok, I didnt ask for explanation. Besides, if you hadnt come there then how could I have found my heroine in you? You dont know sweet heart, what you have got. I can see a topmost heroine in you, a rising star."
"It will only happen when I will say yes. And...I am not your sweet heart." Mini replied.
"I dont think you will do anything other than to say a yes to this offer. And When Neil gives name to someone, nobody dares to disagree." Neil stated with that authoritative tone.
"I still have doubts. I have not decided yet." Minni replied not getting bothered by his aura.
Neil looked at her from top to bottom. On one hand he didnt like how a mere girl answered him back but on other hand he just loved the spark she got. "Then its better you clear all your doubts because Neil doesn't like to hear NO as an answer."
Minni was shocked at his arrogance, mocked him mentally ," Neil doesn't like to hear NO as an answer", huh…what does he think of himself?"
"Can I at least know why you chose me? You would have chosen anyone, any newcomer…or forget newcomer, any established heroine will be ready to work with you…then why me?" Mini asked unable to control her curiosity any more.
Neil switched on the tv and played that audition tape in which she was explaining that dialogue to Preet, "Because of this, look at yourself. What an expression and dialogue delivery. You have that x factor in you to become a super star."
Minni was unaffected by his explanation because she didnt understood the value of praise coming from super star Neil Oberoi's mouth right now, "See, I don't know what have you seen in me but the truth is that I don't even know the a,b,c,d of acting. I was just helping Preet out there."
Neil was little bit annoyed as nobody ever dares to question his decision and here this girl is going on n on with her arguments, "Its ok, we will arrange some workshops for you before starting the shooting."
Minni was now annoyed too that Neil is not understanding that she is not interested in films, "Huh…you know what? Maine aaj tak sirf gossip magazines mein padha tha ki tum sanki ho but aaj khud dekh liya. You are hell bent to cast me as heroine even if I don't know acting, you will arrange workshops for me….why you can't simply choose another actress."
Neil finally lost his temper and shouted back, "Why can't you just get a simple thing in your brain? Once Neil decides something, its final. Nobody dares to open mouth against me specially when it comes to showbiz, I am the king here and I think I already told you, I don't take NO as answer. So you will do this film whether you like it or not. Now if you are done with your questioning…here is the contract papers…just sign it."
Minni was totally dumbfounded by his outburst for few minutes but then regain her composure, infact his outburst infuriated her, "how dare this man talks to me like that. I am not his puppet who will do everything as per his wish"
"You know what Mr. Neil Oberoi, first I was confused about my decision but now I have decided, I WILL NOT DO THIS FILM AT ANY COST." She took the contract papers and tore it into small pieces then threw it up into the air and left, leaving behind Neil, seething in anger on her action.
Neil kept looking at the door from which she went out, he bent and picked up some pieces of contract papers, as if trying to believe that she really tore them. He wondered, "how dare she tore the papers….how dare she say no to me?" he again looked at the door, " Miss Minni, now I will make sure that you will come yourself and say yes for the film". He crumpled the pieces of paper in his hands and threw it away. Then he shouted angrily, "Khatri...Khatri, where are you? Come here right now".
Khatri came almost running to him, "What happen sir ji, why are you so angry?
"That Minni said no to my film." Neil said with gritted teeth.
Khatri was shocked, "what! She must be really dumb sir ji. Its her loss, we will cast another heroine. Forget her, she is nothing.
Neil gave deadly glare to him, "I only want Minni as my heroine. Gather all the information about her, about her life, family..everything…I want every info by tomorrow…got it?"
"Ok sir ji, you will get it by tomorrow." Khatri agreed at once. He knew better than to disobey Neil's orders when he was angry.
Neil closed his eyes for a while and Minni's words echoed in his ears again. He opened his eyes with a jerk and said to himself with a smirk, "Neil ko naa kaha, I like it. You have fire. Meri film ki heroine toh tum hi banogi Miss Minni."
