“Badi malkin, are you sure you just want to talk to that mango thief? I mean I can bring her here and you can call her father or punish her.” Satpal kaka, the care taker of mango farm asked Shakuntala devi when she expressed her wish to talk to Mini. “Yes Satpal, don’t scold her or her gang. Just call me when you see her in our farm.” Shakuntala instructed.
Around afternoon Satpal kaka informed Shakuntala about Mini. First she thought of calling her inside but then changed her mind and went in the mango farm. Shakuntala looked everywhere but couldn’t find her anywhere. “Satpal, where is she?” Badi malkin, look up, on that big tree.” Satpal pointed towards one tree and Shakuntala gasped looking at it. Mini was standing on one very high branch and plucking mangoes while her friends where doing same on the other trees. For once Shakuntala was worried for her. “How will she get down now?” she thought and as if giving answer to her Mini climbed down from the tree with ease. Shakuntala devi closed her eyes in dread as Mini jumped from above. “Hey bhagwan! Ye Bandar ki tarah ped par chadne wali, ye jungle ladki mere ghar ki bahu….nahi…ye kaise ho gaya? Kya dekha mere bête ne isme?” Shakuntala wondered.
Shakuntala saw Mini was going, she stopped her, “Aey chorni, zara ruk toh…kaha bhagi ja rahi hai?” She shouted. “Chorni kiski boli budhiya? Chorni hogi tu, tera beta, tera pura khandan.” Mini snapped back on listening her insult. Shakuntala was shocked at Mini’s audacity. Not only she was uncultered but uncouth and mannerless also. “Chorni nahi bolu toh kya bolu? Bina puchhe kisi aur ke bagh se aam chura rahi ho…ye chori nahi hai?” Shakuntala asked. “Nahi, hum log bina puchhe nahi le rahe the….humne Satpal kaka se puchha tha.” Mini replied. Shakuntala looked at Satpal for confirmation while he just shook his head in no vehemently. Mini also looked at him. “Wo jab humne puchha tha to wo so rahe the…so unki khamoshi ko humne haan maan liya.”Mini clarified earning one more glare from Shakuntala while her gang laughed on her joke.
“Ram ram ram….ek toh chori upar se jhoot bhi bolti hai aur badtameez toh tu pehle se hi hai…aur kya kya gunn hai tujhme…abhi se bata de.” Shakuntala said looking at Mini with contempt. “Dekho budhiya….” Mini started but when Shakuntala gasped again on listening ‘budhiya’, Mini corrected herself, “…badi malkin…I mean dekho badi malkin ji…don’t waste my time. I have to go to play cricket with my friends…so just cut the crap…why did you call me?” Mini asked in attitude. “Nothing, just wanted to see you closely…never paid much attention to you previously …that’s why” Shakuntala answered.
“Why? You want to marry your akdu son with me? Why you wanted to see me?” Mini asked in attitude. “Haaye re meri phooti kismet….aisa hi kuch samajh lo.” Shakuntala replied. Mini looked at her with suspicion but before she could have gave it a thought her friends called her and she left from there. Shakuntala devi kept looking at her wondering what ruckus she will create at her house once she comes as her daughter in law. Probably she would turn whole house into circus. Shakuntala shuddered as she remembered how Mini jumped from the tree. “No, I wouldn’t allow this circus and this type of crass behavior in my house. I should talk to his father very clearly about it.” She resolved and called Ashok Khurana.

Mini, on her way back home met Neil. “Hey you, akdu. Did you complaint about me to your mother? She was asking all sorts of weird questions from me?” Mini asked as she marched towards Neil angrily. “Complaint…about you..me? No, I dare not.” Neil answered while smiling knowing well why his mother must have called Mini. “Suno….mere samne ye jyada smart banne ki koshish mat karo.” Mini warned. “Or else…what will you do?” Neil asked as he suddenly came close to her and held her hand.
“Or else I will….I will….” Mini started stammering as he suddenly caught her off guard and his proximity was affecting her. She was tomboyish and befriended boys all her life. She had played, fought and chatted with them and never felt awkward but don’t know why? Meetings with this akdu boy always gave different vibes. Like he was not a normal guy…she always tends to become somewhat nervous in front of him. She could feel butterflies in her stomach whenever he came this close and touches her…just like right now when he is holding her hand…that stupid feeling makes her feel weak and sort of…oh she didn’t have any words for it…that’s why she didn’t like this akdu boy.
“I am waiting for the answer.” Neil asked bringing her back from her thoughts. “Then keep waiting.” Mini replied and stomp her leg on his feet. Neil shouted in pain and this gave Mini a chance to run. She ran away while Neil kept smiling at her, “My jungle billi.” He thought and came back home.

“Badi malkin, aapne bulaya? You wanted to see accounts for this quarter?” Ashok Khurana asked as she bent a little in front of Shakuntala as a mark of respect then folded his hands in greeting. “Paiso ke hisaab kitaab ke toh tum pakke ho Ashok isme koi shak nahi….tumhari imaandari par yakeen hai hume..yaha humne tumhe kisi aur kaam se bulaya hai….ab waqt aa gaya hum apne bête ki life ka hisaab kitaab dekhe.” Shakuntala replied as she asked Ashok to sit down. Ashok looked here and there, he couldn’t find any other chair, the only place to sit was directly in front of badi malkin, on the sofa chair. He didn’t find it right as he was just their servant and respected his badi malkin a lot so he politely said no, “Badi malkin main aise hi theek hoon.”
“Baitho Ashok….I want to discuss something important with you and besides this…you are going to be our equal now…so don’t hesitate.”Shakuntala said. For once Ashok didn’t understand anything but he quietly took his seat. “Badi malkin, please tell me clearly what do you want?” he asked.
“My son Neil likes your daughter Mini. He wants to marry her. So, I am asking her hand for marriage from you.” Shakuntala answered clearly. “WHAT? Neil…Neil beta….your son…and my Mini? But how is this possible…you are so wealthy….I am just your servant.” Ashok was shocked and he stood up from his chair. Shakuntala gestured him to sit down again. “Listen, I don’t believe in all this rich poor thing. All I wanted was a sundar susheel sanskari bahu for Oberoi khandan but….my son is so smitten over by your daughter that he doesn’t want to even consider another girl. So, I have bowed down before his stubbornness and asking you for Mini’s hand even after knowing well that she doesn’t fit in any of the above mentioned criteria. So, do you agree with this proposal?” Shakuntala devi asked.
“Badi malkin, aap jaise bade ghar se rishta ayega…upar se Neil jaisa achha ladka…kaun naa kahega aise rishte ko? But you yourself said that my Mini didn’t fit in any of your criteria for good bahu then why?” Ashok wanted clear answers. “I told you my son is so smitten by her that he is not listening to me. He is my only son….ye sab kuch usi ka hai usi ke liye hai…uski ichha puri karne ke liye main kuch bhi karne ko taiyyar hoon….bhale hi Mini jaise ladki ko accept karna pade. You tell me. What is your final answer?” Shakuntala asked again hoping against the hopes that he would say no,
“Badi malkin…meri beti ki toh kismet hi khul gayi…aapke ghar ki bahu banne ka mauka mil raha hai….main kaun hota hoon manaa karne wala….I accept this proposal.” Ashok replied as he wiped happy tears from his eyes.
Shakuntala devi sighed, finally accepting her fate. “Ok, I will ask pandit ji to look for shubh muhurat. Neil has mangal dosh in his kundli so I want this marriage to happen as soon as possible. Also, he will go back to Delhi after two months so I would ask pandit ji to look for shubh muhurat in this month only.” Shakuntala devi told him and Ashok just nodded in yes. After discussing all the things he stood up to leave but Shakuntala stopped him.
“Ashok, I know one month is a very less time and considering the wild habits your daughter has, I know you cant do much about it but still….please try to teach her basic manners in this time.” Shakuntala requested. “I know my daughter is little childish but what I could have done? Bin maa ki bachhi hai…koi tha hi nahi usko ye sab sikhane wala…but don’t worry, I will call Naeem bi from our village. She is like motherly figure to me. I will ask her to teach all the things to Mini.” Ashok assured her and went to share this news with everyone.

“WHAT! You have fixed my marriage! That too with that akdu Neil….I will be going to that budhiya’s house?” Mini asked perplexed from the news. “Mini, is this the way to talk? Show some respect. They are going to be your in laws soon.” Ashok scolded her. “But papa, meri shadi? What is need? I have just finished school…I am just 19…please let me live peacefully for sometime.” Mini requested. “Mini, I have asked you many times whether you want to pursue college but you have never shown interest. What do you want to do? Waste your whole life in playing gully cricket with mohalla kids? If you don’t want to study further then you should get married.” Ashok reasoned.
“Ok, I don’t have interest in studies but that doesn’t mean you will marry me off to get rid of me.” Mini sobbed. “Mini, bachha, its not like that beta. You know how much I love you but beta aise rishte bar bar nahi aate….itna bada khandan…itna achha ladka….you know what? Badi malkin told me that Neil has fallen in love with you! He wants to marry only you….ab tum batao aise rishte ko kaise naa kar doon main?” Ashok tried to make sense into her. “He loves me that’s his problem not mine…why you are sacrificing my life for it papa?” Mini cried. “Mini! Mind your language. I am your father and I am not sacrificing your life…I am making sure you will live happily ever after in your life. After your mother died, its my responsibility to assure you better future and I wont be able to find a boy as nice and rich as Neil. Besides this, I am just their servant….all our generations have served Oberoi clan. Due to my loyalty and dedication also I cant say no to them. So its final. You are getting married to Neil.” Ashok announced his decision.
Mini kept crying. When she thought now nothing worse can happen, her father dropped another bomb. “I have called Naeem bi from the village. Since you are getting married, she will teach you all the things, household chores, manners, how to behave etc. I know you don’t like her much but please for me….bear with her and pay attention to whatever she says.”
Mini closed her eyes in defeat. She hated Naeem bi. That old lady didnt leave any chance to point out her mistakes and keeps scolding her or just instigating her father against her saying that he is not keeping Mini in control. Today was such a nice day in her life. She took lots of mangoes from the farm, even scored half century in cricket match but she didn’t know this day will turn out to be the worst day of her life…her life was going to be practically over for ever. Why…why that akdu has to fall in love with her? Mini thought and cursed Neil and his mother for ruining her life.

Neil's jungli billi Mini feeling kuch kuch by proximity .Well written about it . Hints to changes in her in future. Shaku🤣 though I don't like this character but I love when Mini troubles her 🤣
Now Anjali's favourite🤣Naeem bi🤣 had to take revenge🤣. I remember how we girls hated her at end🤣 @zalimas gabbar gif🤣 ye haath/garadan hume de de 🤣 we were so happy when Mini indirectly caught hold of NB neck 🤣i hope this jungli billi also do something same 🤣irritated by NB🤣
