I think it was necessary. Distance do make hearts fonder, and if they had cleared misunderstandings right there and then, sitara wouldn't realise her own feelings. This seperation will give her time to asses her own feelings. Abhi tak she was in her survival mode, that's why she was not thinking about her feelings towards salar. Now that her family is clear about her accusations, and with all the realisations, she will heal. I think tahir mehreen will step in to solve their issues. I don't think qasim will be able to do any harm, but i think he will be a major reason for sitara accepting her feelings.

I like how beautifully they have handled Kiran's plot and sitara getting rid of her accusations. It was not ott at all.
