Sorry. It wasn’t my intention to make anyone feel lesser. I have trained in Carnatic music and have some knowledge of raaga and Classical music - mostly thanks to my overly musical family and just loads and loads of listening and attending classical music concerts. I’m by no means an expert. But I try. smiley9 It’s a personal passion for me.

I am also learning Ahir Bhairav too along with Hansdhwani and Raag Jog.

My Hansdhwani is more difficult, it is really testing me. While Jog and Ahir Bhairav are easy

And the Raag of which I scared badly is Lalit

I m learning Non Filmy, but in Ahir Bhairav this composition has won my heart

The basic meter/line of the song is borrowed from the famous Carnatic composition: Vatapi Ganapatim bhajeham by Muthuswami Dikshitar. A must learn for most Carnatic music students.

Here's another Hamsadhwani

O chand jahan woh jaye

Film: Sharda (1957)

Music: C.Ramchandra

Lyrics: Rajinder Krishen

Singer: Lata Mangeshkar

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXmKpud3Abw

And my absolute favorite Hamsadhwani (janya of Shankarabharanam, 29th Melakarta)..but also said to be janya of Kalyani in the way it's sung. It's a Carnatic raagam.

Sri Ranga Ranganathanin paadam (has a mix of Mohanam too)

Film: Mahanadi (1994)

Music: Ilaiya Raja

Lyrics: Vaali

Singers: S.P. Balasubramaniam, Uma Ramanan, Shobhana

Ahir Bhairav rules my heart. I liked this acapella jugalbandi you posted. The Chakravakam piece I posted earlier is aamahzing! Though it's Chakravakam and not Ahir Bhairav but it's similar. I love Bairaagi Bhairav too (Revathi in Carnatic - will post some songs later)

Lalit... ahh yes. Beautiful raag and I can understand how it can be difficult to render and capture the right emotions.

Here's some raag Lalit for you - perhaps they'll inspire you?
