How SRH secured IPL playoff spot

IPL 2024, SRH vs PBKS IPL Live Score: Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Punjab Kings - Pat Cummins' SRH only needed a point or a win over Gujarat Titans in their last game to enter the IPL 2024 playoffs. With rain playing spoilsport, the home game of the Sunrisers was called off without a ball bowled in Hyderabad. Thus, both teams shared a point each and SRH made it to the IPL 2024 playoffs. Former champions Gujarat Titans were already knocked out of the playoff race. KKR, RR, SRH and RCB have made it to the playoffs this season.

Toss

The team that wins the toss would go for batting first as both the teams would like to bat and score as many as possible. SRH might look to the score of 300 which they have been eyeing in this season.

Previous Meeting

The most recent encounter between these two teams occurred on April 9 of this year. Sunrisers Hyderabad's Nitish Kumar Reddy was named the Player of the Match for his stellar performance, scoring 64 runs off 37 balls and claiming 1 wicket for 33 runs in 3 overs. The Sunrisers emerged victorious in a nail-biting contest, clinching the match by a narrow margin of 2 runs.

Can SRH finish in the top 2? They sure can, but for that to happen - they need to win today and hope RR (will play KKR in the evening) lose the next game. If SRH lose or no-result, RR will claim the second spot irrespective of the result in the final league game.

It's not raining in Uppal, Hyderabad right now. And how many of you are still nursing the late-night RCB-CSK hangover? Yes or no, it's time to switch your focus to the other three play-off teams. Also, today marks the end of league stage, and the last double-header of the season as well. Plenty of rain updates over the last 4 days and, fingers crossed, hoping today is anything but wet-weather updates. Hello and welcome to game 69. Ball one in 60...

It's raining in Hyderabad Bangalore! Some may be secretly wishing that it had rained there about 20 hours back. But anyway, it's time to move on as we travel a little east after a thriller last night, as Sunrisers Hyderabad host Punjab Kings. SRH haven't been in action for 11 days now, with their previous match, three days back, getting washed out. This is Himanshu saying hello as the battle for the second spot remains on, with Vithushan set to join me for the second innings.

A rained-out game at home a few days back means SRH can't control everything if they are hoping for a top-two finish. But they will look to do their bit against a weakened PBKS, who have only two foreign players available due to various reasons. All this and more in Hemant Brar's preview for this afternoon. But the flip side of having such a long break means that SRH could be mentally refreshed before the playoffs, as Varun Aaron highlights.
