Don't maan dont come the insecurities between geet and u please communicate and solve the pblms
Hi there
appreciate the update
Part 78
Rajveer's words impacted Maan
was Rajveer sincere?
Maan's thoughts were reasonable
so Geet thanked Maan who assured her
however Geet sensed that something was off with Maan
great that she questioned him
alas Maan denied that anything was wrong
sad seeing the distance between Maan and Geet
Gosh who trashed Geet's place?
her fear was reasonable
liked Maan's concern and protectiveness for Geet
of cos Maan insisted that she stay with him
pleased that she agreed
Geet's thoughts were understandable
glad that she confronted Maan
Maan's response was anticipated
at least she felt that Maan was slipping away from her
oh Maan thinks she fears him
what will he do?
hope he speaks to Geet instead of assuming
update soon
Part 79
The questions would have gnawed at her from the start. And Maan had known that. Geet had no reason to trust him, no reason to believe that his interest would last beyond the novelty of having her.
And what would happen if she angered him?
Maan could almost feel her fear now—the fear she had so carefully hidden behind her defiance.
What if she refused one of his whims?
In her mind, any relationship with him, outside of their ironclad agreement, would make her vulnerable. She would have been walking on eggshells, wondering how long she had before he grew bored, or worse, before he retaliated if things didn’t go his way.
A deep sense of shame twisted in Maan’s gut as he recalled how she’d looked at him back then. Not with affection, not with trust, but with a guarded wariness that she couldn’t hide. In her eyes, he had been a threat—a rich man with all the power, and her, a fragile, trapped soul, who was at the mercy of his whims.
She didn't want that uncertainty.
She didn't want to be degraded by accepting his gifts or help, fearing that they came with invisible strings attached. She would have felt powerless, like she owed him something. He knew that. The idea of dating him—of entering a relationship where she had no safety net, no clear lines—would have felt like a slow erosion of her dignity.
Maan’s fists clenched as he remembered how it had been back then. It wasn't love. No, not at first. It had been something far more selfish. He had looked at Geet like a rare, fragile treasure—something unique that he needed to possess. A little bird trapped in a gilded cage, too delicate to be left on its own.
She hadn’t been a person to him, not really. She was a prize. A shiny, intriguing thing that he couldn’t risk losing. And so, instead of offering her the uncertainty of love, he’d offered her a contract—a black-and-white agreement that safeguarded her rights, her future, and kept him in control. It was business, plain and simple.
The irony of it all hit him now. Back then, he hadn’t cared for her the way he did now. He hadn’t realized just how deeply his feelings would grow.
But now, with the weight of their past hanging between them, Maan felt like he had been the bad guy all along. He hadn’t been a good person. And maybe, just maybe, he still wasn’t.
Geet had accepted the contract not because she wanted to, but because she had to. She had no other choice. Without that agreement, she wouldn’t have stood a chance against the unpredictable, manipulative world she was trying to escape. The contract had given her protection, given her a way to stand on equal ground with him, at least on paper.
But now... things were different. Or they should have been. He cared for her, deeply, in ways he never imagined possible. Yet, she still treated him with kid gloves, as if the imbalance of power still existed between them. And maybe it did.
The realization hit him like a punch to the gut—Had he really changed? Or was he still that same selfish man who had trapped her in a contract just to keep her close?
Maan closed his eyes, trying to shake off the guilt that gnawed at him, but it clung to him like a second skin. He thought he had become better. That he had become the man she deserved. But maybe, deep down, he had always known that he wasn’t.
And now, as they sat in this strange, uncomfortable limbo, he could feel it—the distance between them growing, the walls that he thought had come down slowly creeping back up.
He wasn’t the villain in her life anymore. Not exactly. But he feared that, no matter how much he changed, a part of him would always be that man—the one who saw her as something to be possessed, not cherished.
Maan exhaled, the air feeling heavy in his lungs. He had to fix this. He had to. But how? How do you erase the kind of damage that runs this deep?
++++
Once Geet was gone, Maan couldn’t shake the grey cloud that hung over his head. He returned to work, but no matter how much he tried to focus, his mind kept drifting back to her. To them.
Why does it feel like something’s wrong?
He stared blankly at his work screen, the numbers blurring in front of his eyes. For weeks, he’d been telling himself that things were fine, that he and Geet were growing closer every day. But today, that belief felt shaky, uncertain.
She still treated him with kid gloves, like she owed him something. She still looked at him as if they weren’t equals. And worst of all, it made him feel like a sleazy debt collector. As if he were holding her in some kind of emotional or financial grip.

His assistant, noticing Maan’s uncharacteristic distraction, decided to message LadyA discreetly.
Assistant- Hey, is everything okay with madam and sir? He’s off today, like something’s bothering him. Any idea?"*
LadyA sitting next to Geet in the set, glanced at her boss. Geet was smiling and chatting with the crew, but earlier, during the drive, she’d seemed a little down. Maybe it was just nerves before the first day of shooting. She texted back.
LadyA- All seems fine here. Madam is happy, just focused on the shoot.
The assistant scratched his head.
Maybe it’s nothing... but it doesn’t feel like nothing.
+++++
Maan barely managed to complete half of his workload before he decided to leave the office early. He just couldn’t focus, and it wasn’t helping to sit at his desk, spiraling into his thoughts.
He returned home, where the cook had already prepared dinner for him and Geet. Maan placed the dishes on the dining table and sat down to wait for her, hoping they could at least share a meal together. Even if she wasn’t hungry, he wanted her company. He didn’t want to eat alone.
Hours passed, and the house remained quiet. Maan glanced at the clock.
Shouldn’t she be back by now?
Just as he stood to grab his phone and call her, he heard the faint sound of the door unlocking. Geet walked in, looking a little tired but with a bright smile on her face.
“Hey! Sorry I’m late. The shoot ran longer than expected,” she said, setting her bag down by the door.
On the other hand, Geet had a very successful first day at shoot. To her surprise her co-host turned out to be Rajveer
They already got along well in private and it reflected on the camera as well they had a very comfortable synergy between them and their judgment and comments had just the right amount of contrast and complementary flavour
And of course the food the delicious which just made everything even better
Moreover, the business during the shoot kept Geet occupied and didn't give her much time to think about what was wrong between her and Maan
Maan nodded, offering her a small smile seeing her smile. “I figured. Dinner’s ready if you’re hungry.”
Geet glanced at the table, seeing the neatly arranged plates. “Oh... you didn’t have to wait for me.”
“I wanted to,” Maan said quietly. “Come on. You must be tired. Eat something.”
Geet hesitated again, the unease in her chest flaring up.
Why did it feel like everything she said or did would make things worse?
“I’ll just have a little,” she finally said, sitting down across from him.
Maan - How was your day? Did things go well?
Geet smiled widely almost showing all her teeth. She goes and hugs Maan
G - it was great!! Super good!!
Maan hugs her back, feeling happy for her - that good huh?
Geet nods happily eagerly telling Maan everything that happened.
At the end she rubs her stomach feeling super bloated.
G - I think I'll go and do some light exercise. I ate too much today
M - okay. Let's go to the gym then.
He accompanies Geet to do some light exercise. He can always eat later.
He remembers how skeptical and anxious Geet was about a new co-host. How they would behave will there be a fight for screen time and shooting angles.
M - so who is your new co -host?
G- didn't I say just now? It's your cousin Rajveer!! It was so easy shooting with him!
Maan stops and stands up straight looking at Geet
M - You didn't.
G - I thought you would've already known.
M - how would I know? Already?
G - I don't know. The way you always know almost everything before me?
M - i didn't. I don't... I...
He had stopped obsessively observing and overlooking at each and every project Geet participated in. He wanted to respect her and her judgement.
M - you like him? Rajveer?
Geet stops for a moment hearing this odd question.
G - He is a good person and a great co -host. I like this about him. What are you trying to ask Maan?
M -.. nothing.. it's just.. he seems to be the first person from my family you don't detest.
Geet smiles and tries to pull off a joke to lighten Maan's mood.
G - we'll technically he is your step cousin so... Not really family -family right?
M - .. right.
She doesn’t realize that her joke backfired
M - I am a bit tired from all the work, I'll go to sleep. You continue...
Maan didn't wait for Geet's reply and just left, Geet's word still ringing in his ears.
She didn't think Rajveer was technically his family.
And in his family, she detested everyone
What about him? Did she hate him too?
Was she just enduring being with him because that's what she feels she owes him?
Is it?
She did hate him at the beginning... both are super clear about it... did the hate completely turn to liking? Or some hate is still left?
Next day Maan left early for office without meeting Geet.
He works hard for the entire day. All the while telling himself that he is overthinking and reading too much into a situation where there is nothing
He knows Geet is not the sort of person who would cheat on him. He has absolute faith on her.
But that doesn't mean that she can't compare him and Rajveer and list a hundred things in which Rajveer is better than him.
She doesn't even need to go through the effort. Maan can list these things himself
Does it mean Geet would have been happier if she met Rajveer before him? If she was with Rajveer instead of him?
It's not like he hasn't offered the world to Geet, but she doesn't want those things
And Maan has no self-delusions. He knows he is an unreasonable, hard to get along with person... Why would she want him voluntarily.
If he hadn't bound her to a contract and forced her to marry him, she would have never liked him.
This belief becomes stronger and stronger as Maan thinks about all his short comings
Maan went home late, He didn't know how to face geet. How to not be full of doubts of she is happy. How to not feel like a bast*rd if she is sad
Geet couldn't meet Maan in the morning. And evening she came early to spend more time with him. But unfortunately, he didn't come back before she fell asleep.
The next few days went by in this odd way both of them missed spending time with each other and only saw each other in passing. Only having enough time to greet good morning or good night.
+++
Geet has feelings for Maan.. but she suffers from a bit of low EQ and doesn't always show her feelings best... She grew up in a traditional highly patriarchal house... she never saw any woman wooing or cajoling their better half’s.
She thinks they are married, who says I love you daily, what’s the need of saying it daily. It’s all self-understood.
If we are together then clearly there are feelings. If there wouldn’t have been feelings then we wouldn’t have been together
She would have never moved into Maan's house or shared kisses with him if she didn't feel for him... she Just doesn't know that verbally she needs to acknowledge all this to Maan.
Wo kitni bhi feminist and careerist ban le.. kuch kuch views to ab bhi wai poorane zamane ke hai

maan is feeing insecure with entry of rajveer in their life
he find him caging geet against her will
every thought hurting maan n increasing distance between them
geet loves maan but not feel necessary to confess in words with her traditional thinking
geet must express herself so that there will be no grey cloud in their relation n maan also need to have clear talk with geet
Hi, nice chapter dear, please make them confess their feelings for each other, don't make them apart.
Very interesting update dear Neelu ☺️
Just loved it 🤗
I really could see the irritation & guilt in Maan after what Rajveer has indicated to him regarding Geet ... It convinced him that he wasn't the right choice for her
Geet could feel something off with him and things are not as it seems to be ... Though she tried to ask Maan but their relationship is not in a phase where they are comfortable sharing their issues
Though Maan was guilt ridden but he had now realized his feelings for Geet & Geet being a female couldn't muster enough courage to speak her heart to Maan & she thinks that if they are together then it is love but it needs expression now
Waiting for more
Thanks for the Tag
Keep writing ✍️
Hi Nilz,
Maan is so confused, geet is also acting like budhu. Make them speak. Atleast now geet got a hint about his discomfort with rajveer name. Hope it won't turn out bad. They need each other company.
Thanks for the update.
