Part 77
loved that Geet told Maan she is there for him
hate Maan's family
the atmosphere is indeed stifling for Geet
Maan and Geet's relationship seems complicated
so another family member Rajveer makes his appearance
well Rajveer advised Geet
now they become friendlier
his curiosity was reasonable
admire how Geet responded
of cos Maan noticed their closeness
he was clearly bothered and concerned
glad that he confronted Rajveer
Rajveer in turn questioned Maan
Maan's reaction was anticipated
Gosh Rajveer wants Maan to let Geet go
update soon
Wonderful cozy update. Geet becoming open to maan's advances and taking a step herself. Not bad at all
Oh dear! Maan would feel so bad now. His family is one of vultures. Even his parents are a party to the circus.
Maan having doubts is the last thing we need.
Part 78
Rajveer’s expression remained neutral, but there was a softness in his voice that threw Maan off. It was almost…pity.
“I’m not insinuating anything, Maan,” Rajveer said, taking a deliberate step closer.
His tone was measured, calm. “But if there’s something you’re holding over her—financial, emotional, or something else—I’ll take care of it. Just let her go.”
Maan’s heart pounded in his chest.
He stared at Rajveer, as if the words didn’t make sense.
Let her go?
His mind was a storm of confusion.
“What… what are you talking about?” he asked, his voice barely above a whisper, though disbelief laced every syllable.
Rajveer’s expression didn’t change, though his eyes held a quiet intensity. “You heard me.”
His words came out as a slow, deliberate challenge. “I’m willing to take care of whatever debt she owes you. Just let her go, Maan. She deserves better than being trapped in a life she didn’t choose.”
Maan’s face tightened, and anger flickered behind his eyes.
He opened his mouth to fire back, but something in Rajveer’s words stopped him. A deep, unspoken fear lodged in Maan’s chest—a fear he hadn’t even admitted to himself.
Rajveer’s voice lowered. “Look, I’m just saying… think about it. Whatever you’re doing, however you’re trying to protect her—are you sure it’s what she really wants? Or is it what you think she needs?”
The question lingered in the air between them, heavy and unsettling. Maan’s jaw clenched, his fists tightening at his sides as Rajveer stepped around him, leaving him standing alone in the hallway. Rajveer’s words echoed in Maan’s head, each one striking at the fragile foundations of his confidence.
Does she really want this? Am I… holding her back?
+++++
Despite Rajveer’s intrusion into his thoughts, the rest of the trip passed without incident.
Maan had expected some kind of confrontation with Geet after their tense moments earlier, but instead, things just… settled.
Yet the atmosphere between them wasn’t the same as before. The air felt thicker, like something unsaid was hanging between them.
When they finally returned home, Geet’s mood seemed light, but Maan sensed the undercurrent of unease in her.
Even though he had secretly transferred a significant portion of his shares to her, Maan’s mind remained troubled.
I’ve given her everything she deserves... but is it enough?
As they stepped into their separate suites, Geet paused at the threshold of her room, turning to look at Maan. She bit her lower lip, as if debating whether to speak up. Finally, she broke the silence.
“Thanks for... you know, everything,” she said softly, her voice almost too casual, as if trying to brush off the underlying tension. “For being there.”
Maan nodded. “You don’t have to thank me, Geet. You deserve better than what they were offering.” He tried to sound confident, but his voice felt strangely hollow to his own ears.
Geet frowned, sensing something off. “Maan, are you okay?”
His eyes met hers for a brief moment, but he couldn’t hold her gaze. There was a vulnerability he didn’t want her to see. “I’m fine. Just... a lot on my mind.”
There was a beat of silence. Geet didn’t press further, but the tension lingered, stretching between them. Maan turned and walked toward his room, leaving Geet staring after him, confused.
++++
Days later, they returned to Geet’s house.
The moment Geet opened the door, her blood ran cold.
The living room was in complete disarray. Drawers were pulled out, cushions slashed open, and personal belongings were scattered across the floor. It wasn’t just a random robbery—it felt targeted, like someone had been searching for something, or worse, someone.
“Maan…” Geet’s voice trembled as she called him over.
Maan’s eyes darkened the moment he stepped inside. His protective instincts kicked in immediately. “Stay behind me,” he ordered sharply, surveying the damage with a growing sense of dread. His hand reached for his phone to call for security.
“Who would do this?” Geet asked, her voice barely above a whisper, shaken.
Maan’s expression hardened. He already had a sinking suspicion, but he didn’t want to alarm her further. “I don’t know. But we’re going to find out.” He paused, taking a deep breath. “Geet, you can’t stay here. It’s not safe.”
Geet looked around at the remnants of what had once been her safe space. “But... I—”
“You’re coming with me,” Maan interrupted firmly. His tone was authoritative, leaving no room for argument. “I won’t let you stay in a place where someone could hurt you.”
She opened her mouth to protest, but something about the way Maan looked at her—so determined, so protective—stilled her words. She nodded, her heart still racing from the shock. “Okay. I’ll pack a few things.”
++++
Later that evening, Geet moved into Maan’s house. The place was lavish, as she expected—spacious, elegant, but sterile. It didn’t have the warmth of a home, and though Maan tried to make her feel comfortable, something about his behavior unsettled her. He was kind, almost too kind, overly considerate in a way that felt unnatural.
He escorted her to her room, where she would be staying temporarily.
“If you need anything, Geet... I’m just a door away,” Maan said with a soft smile, though it didn’t quite reach his eyes.
Geet gave a weak smile back, sensing the invisible wall that had grown between them. “Thanks, Maan. I appreciate it. Really.” She hesitated, her fingers lingering on the door handle. “Are... are you sure everything’s okay? You’ve been acting a little... different.”
Maan blinked, taken aback by her directness. “Different? How?”
“I don’t know. You’re just... quieter than usual. Like you’re walking on eggshells around me,” Geet said, searching his face for answers.
Maan’s jaw tightened. “I’m not walking on eggshells. I’m just trying to make sure you’re comfortable.”
Geet tilted her head, her eyes narrowing slightly. “But I was comfortable before. Now... I don’t know. It just feels like something’s changed.”
Maan forced a smile, though he felt the weight of Rajveer’s words pressing on him again. Maybe she’s better off without me. Maybe I’m the one making her uncomfortable. “Nothing’s changed, Geet. I’m just... giving you space.”
Geet nodded, though she didn’t fully believe him. “Okay... if you say so.”
As she closed the door behind her, the unsettling feeling remained. She couldn’t shake the sense that something ugly was lurking just beneath the surface—something waiting to ruin the fragile peace they had built. And despite Maan’s assurances, the distance between them felt like it was growing.
After returning home from their trip, Geet felt a growing discomfort she couldn’t quite shake off. Maan’s usual warmth was there, but it seemed muted.
“Do you want me to drop you at the shoot tomorrow?” Maan asked, his voice soft but neutral.
Geet shook her head quickly, not wanting to trouble him. “No, no. It’s okay. The location is far from your office, and I’ve already called LadyA. She’ll drive me to the set.”
Maan nodded, his gaze lingering on her a moment longer than usual before he said, “Alright. Goodnight, Geet.”
“Goodnight,” she replied, watching him turn and walk away, his back straight, shoulders tense. The feeling of unease tightened in her chest.
Why did it feel like he was slipping away?
++++
The next morning, Maan woke up earlier than usual. He stood in the kitchen, preparing breakfast—eggs and toast with some fruit on the side. He could hear Geet moving around upstairs, and when she finally descended the stairs, Maan greeted her with a hopeful look.
“Breakfast?” he asked.
Geet glanced at her watch and frowned slightly. “Oh no... I don’t have time. I still need to get ready for the shoot.”
Maan didn’t let her off that easily. “I already made some. It won’t take long,” he said, trying to make it easier for her.
Geet hesitated, clearly torn. “Maan, it’s a cooking show. I think... I’ll have to keep an empty stomach.”
Maan raised an eyebrow, seeing right through her excuse. He sighed internally, feeling the strain again.
Why can’t she just say no honestly? Does she think he’ll get upset?
“You know, the eggs are pretty burned anyway,” he said with a forced chuckle. “You don’t have to eat. Maybe another time.”
Geet blinked, then nodded quickly. “Oh! Okay, well... thanks anyway. I’ll get going. Bye!”
“Bye. Good luck today,” Maan replied, offering her a faint smile.
“Thanks!” Geet waved as she walked out the door, leaving Maan standing there, feeling like the distance between them had grown just a little wider.
Maan leaned against the counter, staring blankly at the kitchen wall, his mind heavy with thoughts of Geet. His chest tightened as the memories of their beginning rushed back to him—their strange, tumultuous start.
When he had first proposed the contract marriage, he hadn’t done it out of some noble sense of protection or care. It was strategic. Cold, even. He knew deep down that Geet would have never agreed to date him. Dating was far too uncertain for someone like her.
She wasn’t just wary—she was terrified of what dating him would mean.
How long would he be interested? How long would he help her?
The questions would have gnawed at her from the start. And Maan had known that. Geet had no reason to trust him, no reason to believe that his interest would last beyond the novelty of having her.
And what would happen if she angered him?
Maan could almost feel her fear now—the fear she had so carefully hidden behind her defiance.

Very interesting update dear Neelu ☺️
Just loved it 🤗
Well Rajveer has played his cards well and it has disturbed the comfort Maan & Geet share ... Maan has started to doubt that Geet wasn't happy with the arrangement
I really think Maan should speak to her & his holding back has made things difficult for Geet as well as she cannot figure out what is the exact matter which is bothering Maan
Geet was scared with this random robbery at her apartment but it seems it was planned but this has made things more complex
Waiting for more
Thanks for the PM ☺️
Keep writing ✍️
No seperation plz wonderful update 💝 💝 😁
