I liked how he came back to her to ask whether he offended her. He gave her a choice to choose, but she said she wants both, showing Mrs. Bajaj signs already. He is impressed. He proposed. I am happy just like Kukki.

4. Just husband and wife

Early morning in Bajaj house

“The registry office is just fine.” Replied Prerna as she sat still whilst a lady applied Mendhi to her hands at the dinning table. She was now surrounded by wedding magazines and a event planner who had bunch of questions for her but Prerna was keen to marry without fuss this time around.

She looked up in the direction of Rishabs room for a moment before paying attention to what the lady was saying.

“Sir has opted for the black jodhpuri any thoughts on what you would you like to wear mam? “I’d like Mr Bajaj to choose.” Said Prerna.

Sat In the balcony of his room Rishab talks to a framed picture of his mother. “You would have liked her.

Just like you she’s a great mother, devoted in love, righteous, loyal, beautiful. Never thinking of himself as someone who would become so infatuated by a lady as he was by Prerna he’d he’d certainly surprised himself.

Hearing two knocks at the shutters he lifts his eyes off the picture frame to see Prerna stood to one side. “I’m sorry to interrupt”

She said politely,

“You look on edge” he noticed a struggle to look at him her eyes. ..”What’s the matter?”

She’d hoped he wouldn’t notice that she was behaving a little different that’s because she felt different around him these days.

She blushed, felt strangely awkward, wanted to gaze at him all day long but then when their eyes would meet it was too awkward.

“Actually I don’t know since yesterday I just ..” she tried to explain and he smiled. He understood what she failed to explain.

“You’re all flustered, and we’re not even married yet” he was teasing her it seemed.

“Yes About that, Mr Bajaj I want to keep things simple.”

“Jaisa aap chahti hai” (as you wish he) he agreed.

She knew he wouldn’t have disagreed anyway

“Thank you” she replied before leaving.

Just out mside his room she paused for a second to see if her beating heart had resumed its normal pattern but it wasn’t so.

The inclination to take another glance at him from here was strong .. what a hopeless romantic she was!.

‘Once your businesswoman of the year you can fly out to India.’ She remembered him lay down the condition as she sat in a corner of the lounge in front her laptop and business books. She opened up a picture of the Sharma family on her laptop and took a moment.

In order to see them again she needed to focus on becoming elite.

A little distance away in the lounge Rishab who finishes a bushiness call, shouts Kuki over.

Little Kuki runs over with her teddybear to hand.

Rishab looks over various different bridal outfits laid out in front of him. He’d already decided which one he’d like to see Prerna in but needed a second opinion from a very important person.

The orange? What do you think Kuki?

Kuki smiled in approval

Looking over out towards Prerna at a distance Rishab takes out his phone and types a message.

‘Dinner by the poolside at 8pm?”

Prerna who receives it across the room smiles.

….

They had dinner together in the evening as planned.

“Ham kuch dino ke liyey bas aap ki Patni Rehna chahte hai (I just want us to be husband and wife for a few days)

No business training, meetings or challenges for a few days”. She said as she watched him neatly eat from his plate and sip his wine.

‘I doubt you’ll have the concentration for that anyway with the way things are going.

“Mr Bajaj!” She scolded him for his presumptuous remark “dealing with the distraction was your suggestion remember.”

He smiled.

Next: The morning after the night before

Lovely.....the PreRish moments were nice.... She's different this time around him.... And her distraction seems more than his.... Maybe he has more time to deal with his than her, that's why ....esp loved the last pool side dinner scene......

Agree .. Prernas feelings bubble and she can’t file them away properly where as Rishab is able to put them somewhere.

I must confess you have a different style of writing, and if I can be honest I have to read twice at times to understand the complexity.. your one liners hold a lot of meaning which a person like me who is not used to reading a lot of fiction takes some time to decipher. I am loving the glimpse into 8 years of Prerna and Rishabh.

Looking forward to the next part. Hope you'll update soon
