Danielle Wyatt-Hodge | Player of the Match: Really nice to get out there. Tough conditions out there and good to contribute out there long may it continue. We did really well to get to that total, it (the pitch) was slow and low. It was better off to play with intent and we tried to get as much as we can. It's gonna be really challenging (talking about their next night game against South Africa in Sharjah), important to learn from tonight and be ready for that game (against South Africa).

So all the 10 teams in this World Cup now have played a game. Things hotting up nicely and tomorrow is another normal day when two (you know who) countries take on each other. Should be like any other game in this competition. We will be there nice and early for that one and for West Indies v Scotland. On that note we sign off from here. Do join us tomorrow for more. Till then take care and be well. Bye for now.

Tournament guide: In their maiden World Cup appearance, Scotland lost to Bangladesh by 16 runs. West Indies, too, are coming into the match on the back of a big loss, having gone down to South Africa by 10 wickets in Dubai.

News brief: West Indies are waiting on injury updates for a couple of key players. Bowler Zaida James suffered a blow to the jaw while fielding off her own bowling, but captain Hayley Matthews said after the game that "she hopefully will be able to be back up for the next match". Senior allrounder Stafanie Taylor also looked in some discomfort during her knock of 44 not out. It was revealed that she had been troubled by soreness in her knee and that she would undergo an assessment before training on Saturday.

Player to watch: Scotland will surely want to use the offspin of Saskia Horley more. Bowling two overs in the match against Bangladesh, she picked up three wickets for just 13 runs having only been brought into the attack in the 18th over. She had quite an impressive run with the bat in the Netherlands ODI tri-series in August and in the match against PNG, she took 4 for 24, bowling her full quota.

Having kickstarted their World Cup campaign with defeats, both Scotland and West Indies would be desperate for a win when they face-off in Dubai on Sunday, to keep their hopes in the campaign alive.

The Hayley Matthews-led side would want to believe that the competition against Scotland would be the easiest of their challenges in Group B, at least on paper. However, Scotland are on an inspired run and beating them would require them to lift their game to a level higher than the one displayed against South Africa.

Veteran batter Stafanie Taylor complained of knee soreness after the game against South Africa. In case she's unavailable for the contest, Scotland would believe this to be a good opportunity for them to secure their maiden World Cup win. While they couldn't stretch Bangladesh as much as they would have liked in the tournament opener in Sharjah, the slightly quicker conditions of Dubai would aid their gameplay slightly better.

But West Indies, like they've displayed in the past, have enough ammunition in their line-up that at times even a one-player show can be enough to outdo the strongest of oppositions. But Matthews would still hope for a larger collective contribution from the team at a venue where her team has slightly more experience of playing.
