Sequels always open big. Race 2 opened bigger than Race 1. Dhoom opened bigger with every subsequent film. Crew wasn’t a sequel, but if they make a part 2, it’ll open even bigger.

Also, the main characters are the 3 male leads. Why is this movie being considered female centric? lol.

Shradhaa should get the most credit. Off course hit movie gives boost to sequel. But this is madness. Bhool Bhulaiya with similar genre was more liked compared to Stree. But the sequel when Akshay was removed opened to around 14crrs which was 3.5-4 times or 350% jump compared to the part one(great numbers). Similar trend would have pushed Stree2 to 25-30crrs OD. Here it is almost 9 times or 900% jump. Well liked first part and all and other actors, story, director everyone deserves the credit but Shradhaa deserves the most credit for this massive jump (blockbuster trailer did helped a lot as well).

Exactly, thats where a public connect comes in. She is second highest followed insta bollywood celeb after PC . She gets maximum likes , she interacts with fans in comments. Shraddha was there all over in promotions.

Instagram followers proves NOTHING

many iconic superstars actresses havw lesser followers than floppy shraddha...so this means nothing

Many wannabe Instagram influencers have much more followers...but they weee never in competition to begin with stars...so this proves absolutely nothing

Stree deserves all the credit. Shraddha is popular no doubt, but she doesn’t have box office power, certainly not 53 crores worth. The movie is doing what it’s doing because part one was such a huge success, and Munjya got everyone excited and hyped up as well. That being said, Shraddha, Rajkumar Rao, and other stars have full bragging rights for being in a 300/400? crore movie. It is their movie.

When male superstars rely on the product being good in order for it to open to big numbers then we can’t give female stars credit for bringing in huge numbers alone…

(It’s unfair and sexist but unfortunately it’s the reality that most female stars of today can’t bring in an opening to a mediocre product without a big male star or a blockbuster director)

But that I call tell for sure a Norah or a tripti or even a kiara kriti woudnt be bringing these numbers if we replace shradah with them

People like to make fun of Tiger and shraddah but both these actors had a solid base in second tier centers

So this stupendous opening credit can’t be given to just one person or one factor… just like alia fans can’t disregard slb factor in gang opening or kangana in her delulu world can’t take credit for similar opening for manikarnika

but the fact remains that stree will for a long time will remain the biggest opening for a female oriented/led movie

Shraddha Kapoor was declared a flop actress in this very forum itself. Now all of a sudden people are calling Shraddha a superstar who is carrying the entire Stree franchise on her shoulders all because that's how the makers are promoting Stree 2. Among all the actors of the movie, Shraddha is more popular hence they're promoting her more than the other actors. The hype of Shraddha is mostly based on popularity and not success.

Alia haters are hailing Shraddha for obvious reasons. IMO the movie got a very good opening because the first part was a good movie and everybody is curious to know what happens next. For me, RKR too has an important role in the movie but obviously he is lesser popular than Shraddha hence he is hardly promoted.
