Kajol is not that great, but she has immense screen presence and energy level...Thats why it makes even her overacting fun and watchable...

She is not overrated, she was a likeable heroine across India....

Absolutely...

She looked very beautiful on screen as well, but somehow totally lacked the screen presence, aura and charisma, in motion, unlike most 90s actresses.

Ps: Juhi was at number 2, after Madhuri in popularity, during the 90s. She was ranked higher than Kajol and Karishma, despite having bubbly roles, mostly , in her career.

I always feel like, for some reason, this forum never gives the due to Raveena for her beauty in her peak days, and ignores her totally.

Even someone like Urmila (who was called a monkey face in the early 90s by some of the industry peeps due to her appearance in her early films before Rangeela) was hailed as some super beauty here, but not Raveena...

Was she not just picture perfect in the 90s?

I consider Raveena (from 1991-1996) the most gorgeous looking actress of the 90s after Madhuri, until 1996. After that she was still beautiful but somehow lost those bubbly looks & charisma.

Raveena was a beauty, but her ''lack of humilty in her face'' makes her less appealing...She never gave pleasant vibe, more like arrogant vibes, thats the main reason.Even now she lacks simplicity and humility in her face...That could be the reason..people appreciate humilty at least in appearance....Raveena never had. Always have that ''i am so special'' vibe, bit similar to Janvi nowadays, Not comparing their looks, just their attitude..I would say Raveena was prettier than Madhuri if you take beauty part alone...But Madhuri have that simplicity and pleasant personality to her, which made her an overall package.Thats what i think.

Raveena always had and still has this under current vibe of being arrogant.

I feel like she is not arrogant actually, but for some reason she lacks self love and is kind of an insecure person with a bit of eccentricities (also image conscious as well).

Her arrogance and haughty attitude seems like her defense mechanism to coverup her innate insecure nature.

I can watch Pyar Toh Hona Hi Tha, her movies with SRK, Pyar Kiya Toh Darna Kya, Dil Kya Kare, Dushman, Gupt everything she’s done like 100 times and can find her expressions relatable in everything. I don't know what her actual nature is ,neither it conecerns me..But her attitude makes her limted as an actress. Basically ''single note''...Cannot imagine her in cute bubbly role(juhi, Kajol), or innocent role (Manisha 1942)or outright commercial like Khal Nayak( Madhuri was more dynamic, both attitude and simplicity)

I interacted with Raveena in her direct messages, on twitter many times in past, found her extremely self conscious and she was quite defensive....she even answered few questions of mine which no other actress of her stature will do, yes it was her official verified account.

Raveena was a limited actress but her aura and charisma were immense and unique.

Agree she was not suitable for softer roles...

She excelled though as a performer in Satta, I find that performance of her really good even better than her NA winner Daman.
