Tbh, I don't disagree with Swara. Hindutva extremism is no different from Taliban. Rapes, honor killings, and other means to keep women in check are rampant in both. Extremists are quick to violence against minorities and those who don't follow their religious protocol.

In that vein, even some of the MAGA Republicans have more in common with the Taliban. The likes of Lauren Boebert have praised Taliban. Just like Taliban, they too want to control women, minorities, and other religions.

I think it s a human duty to call out and stand against extremism - no matter what social ideology or religion it comes from.

That is why you don't see all these leftist media reporting anything about Meghalaya, and the situation that people are going through there currently especially the non-tribals who are blamed for everything wrong in the state.

But Meghalaya is a majority Christian state, if we show what a normal Hindu has to go through every day, they can't carry on thier narrative.

We see every other month how a Northeast person is racially abused in news, because it fits the description of how racist India have become ever since Hindutva party over the country. But we rarely see the oppression of other religious groups in Northeast making news. Why because it is their land, they have every right to protect thier identity, you majority Hindu should not talk about it. In Meghalaya in last three years, Sikhs Harijans were targetted in 2018 resulting in a 2 week curfew, Bengalis in 2020, thank God corona happened or else who knows how long this would go on. And currently since one of the local terrorist group leader was killed in an encounter, again we see protests. Some groups in Meghalaya basically wants it to be the next Kashmir, and we see every government, media houses and social media silent about it. Because BJP actually doesn't care about Hindus and the opposition well, well, well, they are in their own trip. And social media well, most of the right wing doesn't know where is Shillong situated, too fixated on North India and left wing, well they will just post about how diverse and beautiful Northeast is. Anything else, well nah doesn't matter.

I am so happy that someone is aware about these issues.

WB had horrible cases. People were hanged, raped, looted. I have a friend whose house was completely looted and broken down into pieces by Muslims.

In East, Christians have rejected to celebrate yoga day because its related to Hindu

If this is not extremism, idk what is.

Also as you pointed out, secularism in India means to do mudslinging on Hinduism and ignoring the atrocities done by other religions. Why, cause we are majority.

This BJP gov has its own flaws but they have highlighted this systematic whitewashing, appeasement so clearly that I am glad we had BJP government.

Well If u have followed the conversation then u won't have asked this question. She is not wrong in criticising extremists but associating it with Hinduism is what I felt is utmost disgusting. I wouldn't have said anything if she had the history of associating other religions with terrorism and have criticised others as well.

Comparing Hinduism where ladies are worshipped with Taliban where females existence is debatable is completely stupid.
