The never-ending nepotism debate will never stop trending. Every other day, some Bollywood celebrity or the other makes a statement on the subject, either supporting or opposing star kids being given preference over outsiders in the industry. Most recently, producer Ekta Kapoor and actor Tiger Shroff's mother, Ayesha Shroff, engaged in a debate about nepotism on Instagram.

It began on 7 August, when Ekta posted about the promo of her and Imtiaz Ali's Laila Majnu, directed by Imtiaz's brother, Sajid Ali.

In the post, Ekta Kapoor emphasised that the main actors, Tripti Dimri and Avinash Tiwary, are "unknown talents who have no film legacy or star fathers or godfathers.

Ayesha promptly replied to the post, defending star kids. Her son, Tiger, a star kid, made his debut with Heropanti in 2014.

" It's not a sin to have a star father my dear! Hard work and talent is the same no matter what caste, creed or lineage!!!

Ekta Kapoor, who is also Jeetendra's daughter, then replied to this comment, arguing that it is much harder to make and market a film with outsiders in it.

"Not at all, ma'am! I have one ;) but you have to admit for a producer to sell market and turn around a film with newcomers is far tougher with no lineage attached ! This is no slight to any star kid least of all Tiger who is FANTASTIC! But a request to give other kids a chance too.

Lol finally someone said it how it is on why they launch star kids. Kudos to her for choosing the hard way. If only more producers would be able to take the tough road to success rather than sticking to the easy ones more outsiders would be able to get good opportunities. I wish they could make small budget movies with outsiders and big budget movies with star kids. That could help with the risk.I think YRF was doing this in between but now they are just going for big porjects.

EK actually has a good eye for talent, I love most of her show leads. Hope LM works, since its written by Imtiaz, I hope to see his magic translated within the beautiful locations of Kashmir
