Mani Ratnam is all set to mesmerise us yet again by bringing together Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari, for the first time, in Kaatru Veliyidai. The actress, spoke to Mumbai Mirror on the same as she excitedly stated how she would on her head, just so she could be a part of the celebrated director's film. With this first glimpse of what Karthi and Aditi's romance is going to look like, we're sure that it's going to be an affair to remember. To top it all, the film's background score will be composed by none other than Ratnam's all time favourite, AR Rahman. He tweeted the same yesterday as he announced that he'll be composing the music for Kaatru Veliyidai. If you translate the title of the film, it means Breezy Expanse. And quite clearly, the teaser of the film definitely gives us the chills as it introduces the beautiful Aditi journeying on the snow capped mountains. A glimpse of their breezy romance speaks volumes of what the film is going to be like.

Like always, Ratnam promises a visual spectacle in the form of his films which encapsulate love and beauty in its purest forms. For the first time, we'll be seeing Karthi romance Aditi so that's again a plus point for why we're looking forward to this film. In an interview, the actress was quoted as saying, "Mani sir's cinema transcends language. If he had asked me to do the film in German, I would have done it because of the kind of director he is." Well, to be quite honest, with the kind of films the director makes, we wouldn't mind watching it in different languages as well! For the film, the diva reportedly learnt Tamil so the dialogues would flow beautifully, like a Mani ratnam film. "I tried to grasp the nuances of the language so I could effortlessly internalise Mani sir's instructions. I didn't want language to be a barrier even on that level. It was challenging and now that I'm back in Mumbai and no longer hearing the language being spoken constantly, I'm afraid I might forget it," said the actress.

Reportedly, the title of the film is actually inspired by a poem by the famous poet of 20th century, Subramania Bharati. The film will be helmed by ratnam with his usual team, Rahman on music and A Sreekar Prasad for editing. Veliyidai is releasing on screens in March, however, first song is scheduled to be out on February 2. Excited for the film? Tell us in the comments section below. I just read one of her interviews and the way she trashed her cancer ridden father (who is at the last stage) is disgusting. 🤢 Yup her mom raised her right and great. 🥱

I don't find her pretty or striking from any angle. Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder.

She looks terrible. And a bad actress to boot. The kinda films MR has been making off late, I honestly don't have hopes from this. And Aditi is not someone who can rise above a flawed script unlike say a Nitya Menon. So basically am only looking forward to the music right now 😆

Why is it that Mani Ratnam usually picks such fair looking actresses? Nitya, Esha Deol, Aishwariya, Aditi etc??
